In my view the greatest sportsman in history with the greatest will to win of anyone.

Not as talented as Federer of JockO’Vitch maybe, but the coolness under pressure, the ability to solve problems during a match, and unbreakable determination make him the very best.

nadal/djokovic/tiger/jordan.......they are the 4 goats imo.......novak will pass federer in the goat race so roger will only be the 3rd greatest tennis player of all time..........to anyone who questions this....please answer a few questions

1. why didnt federer win the slam on his best surface (wimbldon) 14 times?
2. why didnt federer win his worst slam surface (french) more than once?

federer couldnt beat rafa at the french while rafa could beat him at wimbldeon........fed did win way more hardcourt majors than rafa but its 22 20 to nadal. end of discussion.

The OP’s first sentence is fanciful to say the least. What l want to know is what medication will Nadal  be on tomorrow (assuming he plays)and will it be legal ?

reportedly

Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from Wimbledon ahead of his semi-final clash against Nick Kyrgios following an abdominal injury - sending the Aussie through to his first ever singles' Grand Slam final.

The 22-time Grand Slam winner received treatment during his quarter-final win over Taylor Fritz and was told by his father to concede the match before powering on to a five-set victory.

However, following scans on Thursday Nadal has decided not to risk further damage by playing on Friday evening - with Kyrgios into his first ever final as a result of a bye.

If there were a debate for the greatest sportsperson in history then Nadal would definitely be in that conversation hands down, but so would Novak and Federer.

Certainly the greatest competitor ever.

As Jimmy Connors once said: he plays like he's broke.

Kyrgios should be made to play Fritz ..... why should he have the benefit of an extra rest compared to the other semi finalists
Report Wesdag July 8, 2022 1:10 PM BST
A walkover is not that uncommon in tennis.

The "extra rest" is hardly likely to make that much difference.

^^^ Nadal just disproves your point

Lol, an abdominal tear is hardly likely to heal with an extra couple of days rest.
