Even shorter now. Definitely looks bad given her prior record on grass. It's just based on a default fav though, as it's very hard to know where else to put your money.

She has Radwanska's old coach, Aga who's best surface or at least favourite surface was grass, suppose that'll help. But you can really can be KO'd by any random ball basher on grass or a half decent grass court player like Muchova, Kontaveit, Pliskova, Jabba, Riske etc. (Incidentally, something is very wrong with the ranking system when Kontaveit is world number 2). At the French she was deserved fav but her odds meant she was always going to be a poor value winner, here she's be an extremely poor value winner given her lack of grass credentials outside of Junior Wimbledon. Her topspin forehand shots just like with Nadal, are blunted somewhat, she'll have to start hitting a lot more flatter balls taking away her USP. The trajectory of the ball on first bounce is lower than the truer bonce on a hard court and obv has no artificial kick as it does on clay meaning a) she have less reaction time and b) it takes away the impact and angles she can create with her extreme western grip when she's retrieving balls below the knee. Nadal got to around 5 or 6 semi's+ but in half of them I think he'd of been out in the women's game being 1-2 or 0-2 down but he obv had more rope with B05 and physicality which overcame many bums.
Her best hope is to get 4 mugs for first week when the grass is slippy and quick and then after a week when the surface is worn and dryer esp with the heat, she'll be in the mix, if her opponents had any tactical nous they'd be slicing to her FH as often as possible but then again players can't just suddenly slice like Barty so she's lucky there.
Think she's playing Berlin so will know more next week, will have to take into consideration calibre of opponent and their credentials on grass. It honestly would not be a surprise whatsoever to see her lose in any of the first 4 rounds. It's also laughable that Osaka is second fav. I'd have more confidence in old warhorses Kerber and Halep getting further than those 2.
Having said all of that, she can win Wimbledon one day, it's all a matter of adaption and time, I can't see it this early though and at 2/1 a clear fav ahead of Osaka at 9's? what a strange era this is.

Swiatek very opposable. Jabeur beat her easily at Wimbledon last year & there are more than enough top grasscourt players capable of beating her. She still has a lot to prove on grass.
