1. Iga Swiatek 8631
2. Anett Kontaveit 4325.

Swiatek has nearly two times as many points as the #2. Pure dominance.

The most recent woman to win a title here and there before Iga was a proper champion too imo.

that Ivan Lendl guy was pretty good. He also played super inspired Frenchman Yannick Noah one year and lost motivation for tennis at 23-24-

Hopefully Gauff and Pegula will lift the doubles trophy tomorrow. I saw with Vera at Wimbledon how sad it can make someone if they lose two finals at a slam.

Hearing @atptour is following @WTA lead and will remove China events from 2022 calendar...will likely be couched as Covid-driven and not Peng Shuai. Regardless, 3x years no tennis in China....

as long as these tournaments take place elsewhere, great news

ATP will have zero problem replacing tournaments.

It probably is covid driven. No other international sports to my knowledge are currently playing in China, because their demands are too high/unfeasible. I believe they still want you to isolate like 2 weeks upon entry. Well nobody is going to do that to play Beijing/Shanghai in 2022, so unfeasible demands.

The likes of F1 ditched Chinese grand prix from their calendar for this reason. In reality until China ditches it's zero covid policy, there will be no international sport in China (outside of anomalies like Winter Olympics which were run under very special protocol).

It must be pretty horrendous being a Chinese player on tour for that reason too.

It probably is hurt by multiple articles saying Nadal won't play, which probably is very possible. Also all commentary talks like he won't play too.

well that would make some sense on an anti-post market but not here where bets are voided if player doesn't start.

Indeed won't be too long until AO and the Djokovic Australia circus, I assume he still can't get in there either.

Must be tricky for him. It's one thing to retire when you no longer can compete at your best, but that is not the case with him.

Remember the days finals weren't predictable low odds trains.

Nadal on French TV said that his worst moment of the tournament was after the match against Moutet as he just couldn't walk anymore. Said he had to have his foot anesthetized to be able to keep going, thanked the doc form the Spanish federation.

Nadal says he will not take the injection he had for #RolandGarros at Wimbledon.

He will only play Wimbledon if the other treatment he is due to have next week, works.

So no Rafa at Wimbledon then.
