Let's go D.Y.

no need for the crowd to be jackasses to Zhang though.

Zhang won a rally, then did a big COME ON and pointed at her no 1 heckler.

Didn't realise Tsitsipas was getting stacks of abuse for tweeting 'Malibu is a magical place' when there's a war on
Not his biggest fan but seems a bit over the top

shame D.Y. couldn't win but just making the final was enough to make her week in Lyon a feelgood/inspirational story imo.

Yastremska getting a bit of fatigue late in the final set. Sixth set within 23 hours.
Maybe emotional fatigue as much as anything.

Not Zhang's fault that China is Russia's biggest ally! She dealt with the hostility pretty well.
Good competitive final.

Just watching the speeches back. Yastremska very emotional but got through it.

When the coverage went to the long shot the sight of her standing in front of the microphone draped in the Blue and Yellow flag was pretty powerful. Suspect that picture might get in a few news reports.

One of the top stories of the tennis year 2022 when we look back at it in 10 months, even if Lyon is a tinpot tourney.

Also,

Dayana Yastremska receives Naomi Osaka’s Indian Wells wild card, as the Japanese entered directly today."

Yes she had been on easy street.

Osorio suddenly sparkling but it's Leylah who needlessly lit her fuse.

Classic Osorio taking a medical timeout.

leylah hates this nonsense.

But when Haddad Maia did it Leylah actually improved. So it could backfire massively.

Osorio might take over as the MTO abuser meme from Yastremska with everyone having some extra sympathy for the Ukrainian in the forseeable future.

Player when opponent is taking an MTO: "Is her last name Osorio Serrano?"
Umpire: "It's actually just Osorio now"

On that note, if Dayana continues to play in her colors all spring and summer and wants to do the same at Wimbledon, what would their reply be?

I could actually see them letting it slide. Knowing Wimbledon it might be a condensed version mind you. If the war is still going on then though, I imagine UK and most of the world will be at it.

Ok

If Dayana (and others) are really resilient about it anyway I don't expect Wimbledon to ban or fine them. Will probably first seek some compromise and convince them that yellow and blue accents/details are also plenty cool.

My initial thought was they would say no, but when I thought some more I thought they would an exception because it would make them look really bad to not allow it. Let's hope things have calmed down by then.

If that's the case, there probably won't be a Wimbledon Sad

Considering Leylah's 2022 serve is a work in progress that was a fine hold from 0-40

I should have put that on there to see how many votes it would have gotten.
