Wasn't her first match of the season. She had the blister before the match. You are more likely to get a blister when you haven't been playing/practising regularly as the skin on your hand is less toughened. She had the off season, then had to isolate with covid and withdrew from two warm-up tournaments.

I'm sure there's a few on here who get blisters just from watching ladies tennis

i found it bizrre however when she said her coaches were saying she shold pull out

I would say normal procedure is to give it a try and see how it goes. It's not like it's something that will cause damage longterm like playing with other injuries could.

Not saying ER is the next Serena just that this current crop is very average especially mentally.

I wouldn't say they're any weaker mentally than the players who spent some of their careers in Serena's shadow when she was still dominant. The younger ones who've come out and won slams recently have shown more mental strength than much more experienced players who should have been picking up more slams in the last 3 years. Fearless vs fearful.

I've seen comments on Social Media from her local community and she seems to be accepted as a Bromley lass.

Came here at 2 ffs!  Do you remember anything about your life before you were 2, because I certainly don't.

Ash Barty is 6 years older and the twists and turns in her development/career since the age of 19 clearly contribute to the rounded and versatile player she is today.
Emma deserves the chance to broaden her own experience over not months but YEARS before anyone can write her off.

Emma's job is to win tennis matches - I'm really not bothered by how exciting she is in pressers.

She's only 19 & as "boring" as she is, has to deal with weird men stalking her!

She’s boring hence I find it odd any man stalks her though

She’s got nice skin and is nice enough in the looks department but can you imagine spending your nights with her?

To be fair most women are boring after a week once the novelty wears off to be honest
