Tonight in the early hours is the first main tour meeting of Océane Dodin and Olympic champ Belinda Bencic.
Bencic had a comfortable first round match against Haddad Maia and looks to be playing with more confidence and aggression than when she was beaten down by Raducanu in the US Open although that match showed she has the potential to be rattled when caught off guard by some top shotmaking. The Swiss is the world number 23 and had impressive second serve consistency in her first round match, just the one DF and warrants respect.
Dodin at the opposite end of the top 100 absolutely wiped the floor with Giuliana Olmos the Mexican player who was coming in off a run of good wins in qualifying including a three set tussle against the golden armed French prospect Diane Parry. Dodin's all round game is very much a thing of beauty when it's firing and Olmos got it both barrels. If she can bring that form into her match against the Olympic champion I think there could be a shock on the cards.
Watch and assess is the obvious strategy with this being a first time clash.
Bencic is the clear odds on favourite, currently about 1.2 to lay, Dodin to win at least one set (main bet) available at 2.68, to win 2-0 in Setbetting is a tasty 11s+
There are various Dodins that can turn up here and this is a first time clash. But I'm excited by this match, I think it has the potential to be a belter and may be the standout big upset opportunity of the night. Any thoughts welcome.

Assuming (1) nobody tests positive in the meantime (2) no more RAIN RAIN RAIN to make this a Tim Henman 3 day epic
If Dodin could have just served out at 6-2 5-3 30-30 then we'd have been home and hosed including the 2-0 setbetting at 11s.
Then again when the raingods intervened the Olympic Champion was seriously hitting her stride.

Broken by the Olympic champ. But if she can keep it close, Dodin's returning looks to be improving
Wouldn't say easy. Bencic was rocking a bit in the sixth game but Dodin going for a bit too much.
But that's pretty much that.
Shame Dodin couldn't get over the line yesterday but c'est la vie.
