Can you believe Rune chose to play the challenger in Stettin this week over Davis Cup? Should always play Davis/Fed Cup when you are 18 imo. It's a home tie too, so not like he'd have had to travel to the middle of nowhere.

...This Denmark-Thailand tie looks brutal. Two top 1000 singles players (one for each team), one top 100 doubles player (Denmark's Nielsen), one more top 1000 doubles player (the Thailand player that is also their top1000 singles player). Seven of the ten nominated players across both teams are neither top 1000 in singles, nor top 1000 in doubles.

That will be because he has never played an ATP tour match, never played a challenger match, never played a futures match...and from a quick look it seems he has never played a junior slam either.

The guy literally has one men's match on his record. A 0 and 2 loss to Koepfer in Davis Cup.
