Howdy y'all! Time for another edition of everyone's favourite competition.

I hope most of you will know the rules already, but here they are just to make sure. There have been no rule changes compared to this year's RG edition or Wimbledon edition. So you can skip to the bold part at the bottom if you know the rules.

Pick a player each day. If your player wins, you advance to the next day and get to pick again. At the end, glory, lots of forum cred and an entry into the competition's hall of fame (if anyone can be arsed with updating it) awaits the ultimate winner. If your player loses, you are out and eternal shame shall fall upon on. Each player can only be chosen once, so maybe don't pick your favoured finalists on the first two days. If the first set was completed and your player retires, it counts as a loss. If your pick withdraws or retires before the first set is completed, you can pick from another match that hasn't been started yet. So retirement rules are basically the same as on the Betfair Exchange.

If matches are rescheduled due to rain, you are not allowed to pick it on the new day (e.g if Lorenzi-Nakashima is originally scheduled for day 1, but it rains and doesn't start on day 1, starts on day 2 instead...you are not allowed to pick it for day 2. You are however of course allowed to use it as your day 1 pick). If it comes to such a scenario, I will try to point out which matches you are not allowed to pick on the day.

The picks continue every day until either only one person is left, or the tournament has finished.

Picks don't have to be made before all play starts for the day, but it naturally should be made before the match that your pick

Final ranking is determined by day reached (1st, most important criteria) and then average odds of winnings picks (odds taken from tennisexploter.com) to break any eventual ties if multiple people reached the same day.

I hope that covers everything. If there are any additional questions, feel free to ask.

BOLD PART: This isn't mandatory, but I'd be interested in folks' opinion on the tiebreaker rule. This will be the third tournament with this version of the tiebreaker. Do you like it? Would you favour something else like maybe use lost sets, then lost games to break ties if I get to host the 2022 AO edition? Lemme know!

I will throw in a very special prize just for you: It's even worth 500 quid nominally, but in reality priceless. If you win one of these, you will be unblocked.

You aren't banned. You were only excluded at this year's Wimbledon for being a piece of turd.

well done, yet again (how many is it now?) n88uk Cool
that must be the fastest win in the history of the suicide comps, no ?

allow me to have a little shoulda, woulda, coulda moment, tho., if you will.

I blew it on Day 2 after leaving it too late to make a selection. There were only 3 matches left to select from by the time I realised, and I didn't fancy anyone from those scraps left over.
Went for Cecchinato purely because he has a glorious sounding surname Laugh
Report edy September 1, 2021 11:45 PM BST
With Cecchinato one could also expect Svajda to be mentally scarred when it comes to playing Italians at the US Open. In 2019 the then 16-year old played far above his usual level, he would have beaten almost everyone in the field that day, but the living legend that is Paolo Lorenzi dug deep and pulled out the victory in five sets.

Turns out it provided extra motivation for Svajda to never ease off against Italians instead of scarring him for life like happened to others who went through such situations - like Paul-Henri Mathieu.

Reported! I can handle abuse like the best of them , but getting abused by a double jabbed German with a term favoured by 12 year old geeky yanks is just to much for me.
