Lots of withdrawals for the WTA event. Weather forecasts not the best and no roofs in Canada, so there might be times where we get no play.

Canada feels like year on year it has the worst weather of all the big events.

I wonder if Aussie season will be muggy again or if they will announce their plans ahead of time and players can do the quarantine thing in late December and season can start first week of January. I take it some players will skip the whole thing.

Maybe a win from Lorenzi, who was born in 1981 like Federer, today would inspire the Swiss Maestro that age is just a number and top class performances are possible even in high age.

Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka have reunited for Montreal in doubles. Sabalenka confirms their occasional pairings are still one-offs. She still does not want to play doubles at Slams but with Hsieh not in Montreal, wanted to help Mertens prepare for US Open.

Hsieh preferred to play doubles with little sis in Concord instead of preparing for the US Open title with Mertens. Such a good sister. Love

Andy Murray has been added to the US Open main draw after Swiss former champion Stan Wawrinka withdrew.
Wawrinka, who won the event in 2016, withdrew as the 36-year-old continues to recover from foot surgery.

At age 40 @rogerfederer is still ranked in the top 10 in the world.

I wonder what @RafaelNadal and @DjokerNole will be ranked at that age.
