This thread will cover the upcoming two weeks.
ATP has Estoril and Munich this week, then will start Madrid I believe on Sunday or Monday (main draw).
For the ladies, WTA Madrid is an almost two week event. Qualies will start on Tuesday, main draw on Thursday.
Bianca Andreescu won't be there (covid), neither will Serena Williams (Tiriac said mean things about her), but other than that all the top players will be there, yes even Naomi Osaka!
Blue clay will not return this year either :(

An interview with ATP chairman Andrea Gaudenzi:

- A Masters event on grass has been proposed
- ATP has lost half its revenues because of Covid-19
- On the PTPA: "There has to be good faith from both sides"
- More collaboration between ATP & WTA is planned

Juan Ignacio Londero 2.98
Richard Gasquet 1.48

I see value for a trade on Londero a 2.98. they played 3x, Gasquet won once on HC, Londero won twice, both on clay.

Gasquet has played 2x on clay in the last 2 years, lost'em both.

A grass-court Masters would be a first since the series started in 1990. Gaudenzi: “I personally like the concept of having an ATP Masters 1000 on grass the week of Queen’s and Halle. It is something I have proposed to the stakeholders and to the board."

her next move will determine whether this was a good or bad decision. In general Sears is quite a safe choice as a coach

ATP Masters 1000 on grass is a good idea, but why clash it with Queens?
By:
SamuelMertensBertens
When: 26 Apr 21 16:11
sounds to he means the slot (week 2 of the 3 week build-up to Wimbledon), and then Queens will have to either move up or back a week.

ATP chariman Andrea Gaudenzi has confirmed that he is looking at bumping up either the Halle or Queen's Club tournaments

from the introduction of the article https://www.eurosport.co.uk/tennis/wimbledon/2021/atp-chief-andre-gaudenzi-looking-at-holding-masters-1000-event-on-grass-as-build-up-to-wimbledon_sto8292235/story.shtml

but then in the actual article, this isn't addressed.

so could be that too. but wouldn't clash with Queens in either scenario. Unless they make Halle the 1000 event, but if so Queens can always move.
By:
SamuelMertensBertens
When: 26 Apr 21 16:16
not sure Queens can host a 1000 event or be upgraded to fit enough courts.

WTA loves to copy ATP so wonder if they'll do the same.

but Queens won't want to move. it's a premium event

There just happened to be some players who performed well on it even though they had never set foot on a grass court during their upbringing (because Germans don't like grass courts)

Berlin used to be a famous clay court tournament. It's where Justine Henin-Hardenne retired.

You will see just about no grass courts anywhere in Germany. The grass court spot in the calendar probably just happened to be available.

I thought Germans loved grass. They always chose grass against Sweden in DC back in the 80's.
