It's time for the last Slam of the year. French Open in September/October? Crazy times.
Here are the draws:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_French_Open_–_Women's_Singles
There's a roof this year. And lights. Which will come handy. Lots of rain is expected, so it can still be a big challenge to keep things on schedule.

This will be the 53rd edition of the tournament in the open era.

There have been 27 male champions, 19 of them (70%) winning the title on just one occasion.
18 titles (35%) have been won by just 2 of the 27 champions.

Just 8 of the men's finals have gone to 5 sets (15%), there have been 22 3 set finals and 22 4 set finals.

There have been 28 female champions, 19 of them (68%) winning the title on just one occasion.
13 titles (25%) have been won by just 2 of the 28 champions.

Just 21 of the women's finals have gone the distance (40%).

Of all the Grand Slams, this one produces the highest number of first time Grand Slam winners.

There have been 20 male first time winners, the youngest was just 17, the oldest was 34.
There have been 18 female first time winners, the youngest was just 16, the oldest was 29.

The strategy looks hit the ball side to side before the inevitable huge puff of wind means your opponent misses.

Also isn't the point of outdoor tournament to play outdoors when possible so why is roof shut on Chatrier when other courts all started as advertised.

so theres no point in having rules or tournament officials/referees ,just let the players decide if and when they feel like playing ?

The worst venue in all of world sport is pitch 18 at Sheddocksley.
Nightmare to arrive there on a miserable day and learn that you had been allocated the pitch that no one wanted to play on. Cry
