With Big John not playing it anymore so he can concentrate on getting to the QF at the US Open, it serves no purpose in Winston-Salem really.

For once he's fresh going into USO. Shame he sucks at tennis these days.
Isner is still 16th in the race to london. Though yeah, apart from the Miami final and winning Newport for the umpteenth time he hasn't done much.
He also didn't play Winston-Salem last year and promptly got his best USO result in more than half a decade. Here is hoping.
Miami was before the injury and from when he didn't suck. A title is always a title, but it's not like he looked good in Newport.

The heavy rain's really been screwing them over (and not having court covers, though barely any clay court tournaments have covers, especially at this level.)
I think they were meant to start on both courts at 9:30 local time. I don't think it rained then until now, but they still only started at 11 am...on one of the courts. In the latest OOP, the singles that were originally spread on both courts, are only on the primary court. The second court must be wrecked. Something like that also happened in Manerbio recently. First took them ages to get the main court playable, and even longer to get the second court into acceptable condition.

Like, I looked yesterday night. Two singles QFs to start at 9:30 on the court courts.
Today when I first looked: 10:30 court 1, 11am court 2
Then 11am and 12am second court
then 11am (this had started) and 1 pm court 2
now all on court 1

and indeed some of the doubles have been rescheduled to (indoor?) hard.
L'Aquila restarted indoors (where the rest will also be played)

Probably decided a bit of rain and an unplayable court doesn't really matter in doubles.
scores died for the current matches about 30 mins ago, Zanevska stream been running the whole time though, they've just removed the stream at 5-5 final set lol

Like mismatch text with graphic or something? I only paid attention to the graphic, which had the ball on the line, but there was some confusion in the crowd and Hurkacz's face.

Jerzy got close. He had at least one championship point in Winston-Salem a few years ago.
2014 Winston-Salem final against Rosol. At 6-3, 5-5* Jerzy had 0-40 on Rosol's serve, failed to convert for his chance to then serve for the match. Then when leading 5-4* in the third set he had two championship points with Rosol serving.

I can't believe how lucky that loser Lorenzi is. Gets to collect at least (half?) a USO R1 cheque and plays someone I've never heard of in R1 so has a chance to earn even more.
It's the reward for years and years of tireless work. For slugging it out in the challengers and futures (without having dodgy matches in his resumé) until he finally somewhat made it to the vicinity of the top100 at the tender age of 28. I'm absolutely certain Lorenzi is one of the absolutely hardest workers, even at his age. He is an inspiration for everyone.
Aaron must completely suck at tennis for opponent to be 1.02 SP at challenger level.
