What basis do they use?

Why is Gauff on a show court again?

Should a past her best Serena still be commanding a place on the show courts?

Do Brits like Watson and Edmund deserve show court status?

Defending singles champions Muguruza and Kerber both shoved out to Court 2 and end up being beaten. They'd never do that to Serena or Fed. I think the Wimbledon committee are backward-thinking traditionalists who show, year in, year out, how incompetent they are and how biased they are with their showcourt scheduling. The showcourts have become home advantage for the likes of Serena and Fed. Who wants to watch Fed destroy a far inferior grass court player in straight sets on Centre?

They also impose a bizarre mathematical formula (only to the men's) to ensure the much-loved Fed is seeded 2 while world no2 Rafa is seeded 3 and ends up in the much tougher section.

Last year they used a 'rule' which meant the Novak vs Rafa sf, which was played over 2 days, had to finish under the roof because it started under the roof despite it being a sunny day.

They refuse to play on the middle Sunday (because the grass needs a rest, they say) which means the women play last 16 games on the Monday and qfs on the Tuesday so anyone involved in a tough 3-setter on the Monday is at a disadvantage on the Tues, when they could, if using the middle Sunday, have the men and women all playing on every other day throughout.

The middle Sunday could be a proper 'People's Sunday' offering all showcourt tickets to those who queue outside, but instead they have a 'People's Saturday' which is nothing of the sort and is the day when assorted VIPs from the sports, showbiz and politics world get to hobnob from the Royal Box.

They try and laud them for their forward thinking, adding a roof to Court 1, when they are nothing of the sort and continue to impose Draconian and pointless rules, and the event is run by bumbling, middle class  blazer brigade. They are as unbearable as the BBC's coverage which is pure torture.

Serena absolutely should still be commanding the top courts, she's the biggest name in the women's game. She's also like 3rd fav, so not like she's a no hoper.

Gauff is because Wimbledon and BBC are seemingly all in on pushing her. I didn't agree with putting her vs Hercog on CC, I always think things like this are relatively shallow as ultimately she's getting pushed massively because she's American, a talent from equal Europe would never get this push and that really is a vicious circle in terms of exposure then building your name.

And on the above obviously middle Sunday is a stupid archaic rule. It doesn't even make commercial sense, middle Sunday is probably when the most people are around to actually watch tennis, and you don't even put any product out.

Other stupid tradition is the queue which is just a joke now. You have to camp at least 1 night for 1 days play now, and if it's a high demand OOP (ie. Murray) it will be 2 nights, eg. today's 2nd Monday OOP was sold out by Saturday night. Who is actually doing this? The defence often is that it's the fairest way, but that's absolute nonsense, it's not actually fair at all, it's a young persons game, because not many older people are going to do this, and not many people with a job are going to want to take 2-3 days off to see 1 day of play, you could also do it online much more fairly like they have when they have done Middle Sunday play in the past because they're behind schedule and only waste like 1 hour of people's time rather than 48 hours.
