WTA Premier Sydney
WTA International Hobart
ATP 250 Auckland, Sydney

Was going to place some more mug outright bets, but no-one appealed when looking at the draws, the players I'd favour all have tough draws and aren't that big a price.

Awful weather in Sydney this week. The week before a slam. Normally a recipe ripe for tanking and mugging about.

Next year is going to be like pure garbage pre-AO with like all ATP tournaments bar 1 gone and replaced with ATP Cup.

but WTA tournaments will stay the same as usual?

Sydney I don't think is actually confirmed (Brisbane is) but I assume they will yes.

The ATP event will suck anyway as all top players have to be at ATP Cup I think. And ATP Cup is a crap idea, as it's not on best teams, it's on your highest ranked player.

Hopman Cup will get the chop too I assume?

Will be fine.

Hopman Cup is like almost certainly finished.

are wta replacing the current warm up tournies with ''the transgender cup''? or maybe ''the ATP B cup'' ? god knows that would be the truth

The ATP are running the ATP Cup, it's their rival event to the ITF's Pique Cup thing (which sounds like it's going to flop huge btw so sounds like ATP might win).

What ATP are doing sucks imo. Having your "big team" competition week 1 of year is weird in itself.

I don't see how it's ever seen as a big team competition when you put it week 1 a few weeks before AO, the top guys are just there to get match practice for AO.

Like can you really see the likes of Murray and co. being desperate to win this like they were Davis Cup, players will have their eyes on AO.

Agree. Seems a bad idea to schedule it then

I'm looking for a bit of outsider value beyond the usual Nishi, Dimi, Anderson tips.
So far I have my eye on little Diego who could be dangerous and a nice trade if gets a favourable draw.

great to see 2 shorter guys facing off on the atp tour ... schwartzman vs nishioka both 1.7cm the same as me and their tennis and movement is more fluent and nicer to watchCool

this is a much more interesting match to watch between these 2 shorter guys than you would usually get on the atp tour its more about the rallies and outmaneuvering your opponent rather than boring serving contests between between the bigger, slower, awkward guys. schwartzman and nishioka have both given each other a beating in seperate sets. its a like a street fight, fascinating viewing

Diego too crafty for him in the end, and on to the semis. I expect him to beat Seppi and be in the final.

Very happy with my 740 on Schwartzman for the Oz outright. Nice draw he has too.

Hoovered up 1.58 on RBA to beat one hip Murray in 1st round. Insane price, should be no bigger than 1/3. Cool
