If the weeklys die again, use the other one.

Making her mini comeback on clay, she's only play 8 matches on clay in 3 years.

Garcia should be slight favourite imo.

classic wta to write articles that don't need to be written but are written anyway just so they can get big names in.

Sharapova is favourite which imo is bad with zero reference. Sharapova literally hasn't played a good match all year, even with Garcia generally being average in 2018 there's no way I'd be backing Sharapova as favourite against her.

The pro-Sharapova stance is her record in Stuttgart is very good, but she has been generally getting worse in performances recently so it's to be seen if she will suddenly find it again here.

WTA have written about 6 articles featuring Azarenka on entry list, and she played like 1 of them obv.

WTA have defo turned to click-bait anyway. They do that all the time now, just put the names they know will draw clicks in the title.

no idea how sharapova's forearm is either

Yer which no-one does. There's too much uncertainty for Sharapova to be favourite in my book. You can't really even point to a match all year where she's even looked top 20 standard, yet she will have to be to win this.

The fake clay striking again basically.

This is the best kind of clay generally for the usual clay no hopers, and worst for those who like to play with spin, it's a ball strikers court despite being clay in Stuttgart.

Fast clay, where the ball skids through quite a bit. It's also indoors though so it's controlled atmosphere, there's no atmospheric conditions affecting surface etc. And indoors benefits big serving etc.

I see Sevastova pulled out after Caramba mentioned Goerges vs Sevastova again. Goerges vs Vondrousova now.

Also only 5 R1 matches tomorrow, so Stuttgart are saving a lot of R1 matches to Wednesday and backing up the tournament what feels more than normal.
