We've done the Suicide Pool comps since arrong introduced them here in 2013 and I have compiled a list of winners. I was a bit tired when doing this so feel free to double check for the unclear ones where I've provided links. If my list is correct mouse trap is the current all-time leader at this with 9 wins just ahead of n88 with 8 wins. I've only listed Slams, so the odd ones we've done for Masters and Olympics are not included. Sincerely, your 2017 WTA hardcourt GOAT caramba.

Other special mentions can be added on request.

yes, US-O 2013 men was a tied win for mouse and me. You should make a new thread with corrections after verifying remaining unclear endings and compile an over all ranking, though it's a point of discussion of how to value joint wins.

I was actually thinking of doing this thread myself just this week, surprised I've only won 1 and that was a 6 way tie ffs, but then I realised I've won quite a few of these pools over the years but not in the slams, pretty sure I won Indian Wells WTA 3 years running as well as Miami? or Rome, or maybe I'm confusing the last 2 with the Masters Comps that were run between 2014-2015 I think, but either way as the masters/mandatory comps were run sporadically probably best not including them in any list.

Anyway, I've made a table for all the winners of the last 4/5 years and also added some extra stats and facts including number of entries for each player, cba to do it all at once so will post in a seperate thread next few days, it comes full of colours and everythingGrin

The first Wimbledon since 2017 has been won by two Scots to continue the great recent tradition of Scottish people, namely Andy Murray, doing quite well on the cow's surface. Platini, who had won the latest ladies' Wimbledon in 2017 is also Scottish if I remember correctly.

The dual victory from wisewords catapults him away from the clump of 4-time winners. SamuelMertensBertens at 7 victories must be feeling wisewords' breath right down his neck ahead of Wimbledon, especially with him not having won an event since 2020. Can he rekindle some of that magic or stave off his new challenger for the time being, or will he lose his place on the podium? Will possibly a new face enter the race for glory as happened at the Australian Open?

Stay tuned! Wimbledon is just around the corner.

2 points

1. in any leaderboard it should also be noted how many entries they've had, n88 for example must have played them all, I've missed boatloads.

2. need to come up with something new that prevents 3/4/5 way ties etc, it's a bit lame, especially given it's tennis when draws are not possible, say that as the 2015 ATP French Open winner, along with 3 others, a tie break needs to be introduced, one idea could be that if all remaining players lose on a given day, they can all play the next day assuming there's rounds left, or winner is whoever picked most odds against picks etc, or introduce a back up pick in case all original picks lose.

When: 31 May 22 16:47
The thing about any 'second chance' system is it muddies the waters and introduces randomness.

Say you bring contestants back to life after they all lose on the same day because a tennis player that has never got past the second round of a slam (KT Boulter for example) goes on a hot streak and beats Gauff in the fourth round and everyone's picked Gauff. Let's say I'm the only contestant that has picked Boulter earlier, eg in the third round. If we all come back to life I'm now at an unfair disadvantage because I can't pick this hot non-choking Kt Boulter (that nobody believed in) in QF or later.

There's similar randomness/unfairness for any other second chance system including backup picks. It just doesn't work.
