We've already done this for WTA, see http://community.betfair.com/tennis/go/thread/view/94186/30268479/3-future-maiden-slam-winners-wta-comp#flvWelcomeHeader , now let's do this for ATP.
This competition is very easy to enter. All you have to do is pick 3 future maiden slam winners (men's singles). Whenever someone gets all of his/her picks right that person has won. There is also an elimination question on when all of your picks will have done this to make sure we don't end up with a tie if more than one person has picked the same three players.
So simply write your picks in the same format I have done here (order does not matter). Please write full names, or at least first letter of first name, to avoid misunderstandings.

My picks are:
1) Kei Nishikori
2) Milos Raonic
3) Alexander Zverev
Elimination question: June 4th 2021

Deadline for this competition is January 15th 2017 23:59 UKT, which is when Australian Open starts. At this time, there is no prizing associated with the contest other than the good feeling associated with achieving victory over other contestants.

Sir Andrew has only just been created, it was his alter ego plain old Andy who picked up all the silverware Mischief

But seriously, I've left out the obvious picks and gone a bit more left field

1. Kyle Edmund
2. Nick Kyrgios
3. Lucas Pouille

The big serving Edmund could, one day, have a dream run with his serve blasting his way to a Wimbledon title.

Kyrgios is the pantomime villain who may just find someone who straightens him out whilst the French, despite their general depth of talent, have underachieved in the title department for years.

Remember I did this thred in July 2014 after your original WTA maidan slam winners thread but there was no interest at the time, http://community.betfair.com/tennis/go/thread/view/94186/30298559/3-future-maiden-slam-winners---atp-comp?post_id=540317621#540317621

Back then I went for Dimitrov / Thiem / Vesely

As this seems to be the offical comp, I will keep two of those and drop Vesely, remember Vesely was about 70th+ in the world back then and has barely moved up 20 odd places in 2 and a half years, hardly any real improvement.

I'd say Coric instead

1) Coric
2) Dimitrov
3) Thiem

Kyrgios will never get his act together for two weeks of hard work.

Can see Nishikori making another push though.

Yes exactly Devil so maybe you should make a ruling on that?
And maybe a ruling on whether the man with no name gets to enter three days late?
And sorry for sh1tting on your masha thread.
And well done on winning the suicide pool..
Report caramba January 22, 2017 3:08 PM GMT
Picks saying just Zverev will not count as correct picks if Mischa were to win a Slam.
Since I am a stickler for the rules I can't accept the late entry even though ;[p made a sensible offer of this not counting for Aussie Open.
No worries, I welcome all Masha discussion there.
Thanks.

only the big 3 have been winning Slams since this thread was created. Nishi was a popular pick and is still in the USO.

Most combinations here depend on Raonic winning one, and that seems very unlikely with his injuries. And he is turning 30 next year.

Yeah, I'm going to declare this one no contest. There will be a new one posted at some point between US Open and Aussie Open 2024.
Should somehow there be 3 winners in this thread the winner will still get his flowers.
Report Journeyman September 7, 2023 12:23 PM BST
A few suggestions for this
1. A longer window for as many entrants as possible. It's the perfect time with the huge delay between the US Open and Oz open
2. If Shelton beats Novak or even takes him to 5 sets, maybe make the contest w/o or everyone will feel obliged to pick him
3. Maybe have a link to the ATP top 200 so that people who just have strong views on 1 or 2 players can still pick 3 and enter
Report SamuelMertensBertens September 7, 2023 1:43 PM BST
Definitely won't do a w/o Shelton, we need all the winners we can for these type of comps Happy But the other suggestions I agree on.
Report Journeyman September 7, 2023 2:06 PM BST
Fair enough. But remember that everyone piling on Raonic is what doomed the last contest Laugh
