Thought this could be worth a try for the new season. The plan is for this to be a weekly thread with just tennis talk: match talk, current events in tennis etc. Spamming (including muggy politics talk) and other sports talk can be done elsewhere such as the usual megathreads. I'm not sure we have enough posters here to make this work, but let's see how it goes. I know we have contributors to this tennis phorum that don't post much these days because of all the spamming in the megathreads but on the other hand match threads don't really work these days so I figured a thread like this could be a good comprimise which will hopefully encourage those posters to post. If these tennis threads work, we can continue with them, if not we don't.

4 qualifiers dumped down the bottom of the draw. Rads has a bye and then a qualifier and then possibly a qualifier.

Is Cabrera the next big thing? According to TA, she started 2016 season ranked 1127, and this season she opened as #216. She must be in top 200 after this match (following the discussion from last week, she is another player who just won her 1st Tour match, even beating a #40 ranked player).

and the luck was with him in the TB. He looked down and out after the two poor service games and when 0-2 in TH, but Bellucci demonstrated one cannot just trust his instincts at all.

Poots was low 1.4/high 1.3 after winning the set. Belinda called the trainer and odds plummeted to 1.27. Based on treatment didn't look that bad so odds went back to mid 1.3's. Became apparent one play started again something was wrong though. Still didn't stop odds from going high 1.6's when Belinda went a break up in 2nd. Missed odds at time of retirement but 1.3 maybe?
