Surprised he's even allowed to commentate for Eurosport for it.

BT Sport need to up their game. Buy the rights to these grand slams if Sky aren't going to pick them up. It's not like they have a lot going on at this time of year, it's even international week in football so they don't even have Premier League football.

surely it's a sign Sky are operating beyond their means if they've got to cancel US Open to save money? because as you point out, it's so cheap relative to how much they're paying for the EPL

There's plenty of signs of this. Look much stuff they have dropped. They spin it, but they are losing tons of rights to fringe stuff, losing loads of cricket. Lost like all European football bar La Liga (and nearly lost that until they threw a humph).

They will spin it how they now have all golf majors (only because BBC are even more cash strapped than them most probably), F1 (had for years now, and again was down to BBC being cash strapped). Big up Premier League football and their "portfolio", but their portfolio has been decreasing for years.

Oh and I missed the most important one actually. CL football which of course they have lost.

Depends. The current Sky model isn't sustainable forever. They are putting rights up £4.50 a month every year, you can't keep doing that.

It's one of those industries where competition isn't really good for anyone. It's bad for them as they are really overpaying for all their TV rights, and it's bad for consumers as they are paying ever more for their TV rights.

If she loses to Townsend she's in a bigger mire than I thought. Would have to be pretty much her worst loss ever.

What always happens ie. the rights for everything would get thrown around at cheaper prices.

I maybe wrong, but I have a feeling WWE has been on other channels many years ago.
