Posted previously about Ramos vs Hajek and was surprised to see Ramos odds as high as 1.40.
And I am equally surprised to see Stepanek's odds as high as 1.44 in this match vs Starace.
Sure, Starace is Italian so this tournament in Rome is home soil for him and clay is his specialty. But he seems to be a mere shadow of his former self these days.
• Starace now 31 years old and ranked #293 in the world.
• Stepanek 34 y.o. but still in great shape and #48 in the world.
I watched Federer vs Stepanek last week where F won 6-3, 6-3 but Stepanek didn't play bad. Federer was just better.
Starace for his part now seems to play only Challenger tournaments. He reached 2nd round in one last week (losing to #163 ranked Lajovic). The week before that he actually won a Challenger tournament in Napoli, but in the Final #312 ranked Giannessi retired.
