I think she and her coach are working pretty hard on that Areyoutalkin. She's still pretty young.

On R5 Live now Rob
By:
Sloane looks like a young Michael Jackson
By:
Cheers bobbin, seems they are playing it live, thought it was gonna be some godawful football phone in show
By:
She's hurling in some UEs here, young Sloane
By:
has anyone actually seem robson grimace after a groundstroke yet?
By:
Back on serve, 4.4 Laura?
By:
Interesting SS is still 1.27 in the market. Laura's been the superior player for three games now.
By:
Great Minds Mecca...
By:
Stephens cannot deal with the brutality of Robson's shots.
By:
it's not the brutality that's the problem. it's the mix of spins that's working for her so well.
By:
is trying to produce too much off laura's heavy top spin ball.
By:
This is really impressive. Convinced yet GreenFortune?
By:
1. I don't think she's injured
2. She's done her homework here and understands what's working (or maybe that's carried through from Hobart) may still lose, but i don't think the bias that's developed on stephens is i. |
By:
*justified
By:
At eighteen years old she is surely going to improve by the month, she has real potential and power. Regardless of the resultof this match I hope she has the will and the hard work attitude.
By:
She does seem like a level headed young lady,
By:
I think she's going to be super little player by the time she's 23 or so.
By:
Ot a tennis scholar here, are breaks not as crucial in the womens game or is it just Robson games?
By:
Ot=not
By:
She needs to work really hard on getting her ranking up so that she isn't having to face the likes of Kvitova, Clijsters and Li in the early rounds. An easier ride through would do her the world of good. She's done well again here though.
By:
Anyone else listening on the radio? Surely the worst sport to listen to on the radio.
By:
Breaks don't mean anything like as much in the women's game Rob
By:
Don't you find their descriptions rather poetic, Rob???
By:
it's the case with all power players in the women's game that it comes down not to how good they are when they're playing at their top level, but how consistently they can maintain that level.
it's a bit of an unknown, but robson's consistency does seem to be improving. she's also got three slam winners scalps under her belt at 18, which confirms how good her top level is and that she's got a set of cojones. she's also showing real smarts here today too. it's promising, but there are no guarantees she'll ever be spectacular. |
By:
Stephens is 10 months older too. At this age, that can make a lot of difference.
By:
It ai t cricket bobbin! I love the descriptions on TMS. I love listening to TMS
By:
Big cojones alone can take you far in the women's game!
By:
just ask serena
By:
I'm sure that this tennis betting is not good for the heart.....
By:
Yes Dstyle, certainly no guarantees, but she IS young which is the big thing. Other than todays opponent what youngsters are up there?
By:
It's never been proven that Serena has actual, physical cojones attached to her body.
By:
And still Sloane's 1.48. Should be around evens I think.
By:
massive game that
By:
Quite a few very talented youngsters around, actually Rob. We've seen several big prospects parading at this championship alone.
By:
not watchng the game atm, shouldnt the odds be closer? or is robson findong it really hard to hold serve?
By:
Think the market just thinks Stephens has a bit more experience and smarts Razz. Laura's poor start has left her with a bit of a mountain to climb too, although she's doing very well.
By:
keys looked good.
not sure about vekic - could easily be another safarova. disappointed to have missed the garcia match |
By:
I rckon Laura can win a TB if there is one
