Almagro won 3-0 in sets on hard about a month ago... what do you think will happen on clay? Wink Comparatively speaking Almagro had a bigger edge on clay for sure.

Considering his performances so far, Wawrinka would have to improve to win this. I want him to, as I dislike Almagro.

Yes but considering Wawrinka has won both of their contests on clay makes you wonder where the edge was then

Which two? If you are counting ancient challengers (which is stupid) then there were 3 matches.

The third one was Davis cup match, which incidentally was 2-1 for Almagro after 3 sets.

They have played 7 times. Wawrinka has won 5 of those. They have played three times on clay. One was Davis Cup, one was a futures tournament, one a challenger. Wawrinka won those. They have played twice four times on a hard court, matches shared equally.

You are saying that those 2 ancient matches are relevant?

No, Im clarifying what their match results were because there seemed to be confusion.

The match in the Australian Open this year was the most important, because Wawrinka does not have a coach to influence the way he plays Almagro after that match.

Ah yes, no coach, so he'll use exactly the same tactics.
The bloke is allowed to think for himself!

Also the Aus Match had a few key elements to it, going by the scoreline won't give you that

I think the truth here lies in the fact Wawrinka has not improved much if at all since their previous meetings on clay BUT Almagro has vastly improved imo......Almagro wins this due to his class and his superior mental toughness
