think bartoli will be too strong here.
though we seen it often, beat a great champion and still on a high and loss the next match. bartoli could go all the way. |
By:
Bartoli will destroy her. I think she will go to the final, where there might be trouble with Kvitova.
|
By:
pironkova will deal with kvitova !
|
By:
If that happens, then it is GSM [;)]

what is wrong with you guys?
Bartoli to beat Liski? Have you not been watching Wimbledon this year? Bartoli last two matches, both set down and saved numerous match points to scrape though against mugs. Today against a clearly unfit, UE serena williams, she played half decent in the first set but due to Serena incapbality to return a serve and capitalise on some near break point chances she lost. Not too mention she sould have been 3-1 up in tie break if she hadnt missed that attempt of a drop shot.... Bartoli is has been playing awful this tourney whilst liski has been imense. Liski the value here |
By:
hahahahahahahahaha
|
By:
indeed. people are going off as if bart beat a 100% serena, when in fact she was anything but.
|
By:
Yea, Doi and Cetkovska are world beaters hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
|
By:
bartoli beat a 50% serena...... who was not only unfit but making so many UE's not to mention simple unreturned shots.
Even with those stats, Serena didnt deserve to lose the second set or the tie break.. As i mentioned Bartoli has been on the brink of going out in her last two matches saving feck knows how many match points against complte and utter no-bodies...... What i saw today from Bartoli....... NOTHING! Cannot believe people are raving on about her performance today as if she played great, serena lost it, bartoli didnt win it. The good news is, you lot will be here to drive the prices up for LISKI! |

People wanting to back Liskici are doing this for a few reason I guess, one being that she has not lost a grass court match this season winning pre tournament in Brummy land and dropping ONE set in ten matches!

I saw her play today, and she could have lost that first set, no question.I just hope Bartoli recovers, can take the heat if there is any, can make Liscki move as this is her one weakness but Bartoli isn't a great mover too... But Liscki has been on fire this seaon no doubt.. Fartoli has also had an impressive grass season not losing in 9 games, also winning a pre tournament in Eastbourne and arguably beating tougher opponents in both tournaments.Dropping 5 sets in 9 matches.. Lisicki had pretty much a cakewalk draw, 3 out of 4 matches have been laughable and the only decent one she barely scraped by.
Bartoli had much more difficult opposition, yet is currently riding a 9 match winning streak on grass - which includes Azarenka and Kvitova BTW [;)] I know that Lisicki is a fine piece of ass, but thinking with a dick was never a winning strategy when it comes to betting. |
By:
phew! we were almost on the verge of having a sensible discussion about a wta match but thankfully marin has torpedoed that with his last remark
|
By:
Lisicki has faced so far on decent returner and on most days would have lost that match. I would put Bartoli in that returning prowess category.
How Marion reacts to her win over Serena will have imo a bigger say on this outcome. |
By:
I watched Lisicki win 2 matches very easily at Wimbers today. Her weight of shot and serve could well trouble ANY of the remainder, and I fear a defeat for Queen Marion who may well have shot her bolt vs Serena.
|
By:
How is bartoli odds are lower when lisicki has lower odds then her in out right Market?
|
By:
Pick your answer from:
a) the market has just flipped over, so it hasn't caught up b) Bartoli has a H2H against Sharapova of 0-4, whom she is more than likely to play next c) the market has just plainly priced it up wrong and you should be wading in big time. |
By:
good value losers - all you ever do is troll (and not very well either). I don't recall ever seeing you present anything resembling argumented position.
As for outright odds, they are wrong - Bartoli and Lisicki should be switched around. Also I think Azarenka is overvalued by that market, but she does have the easiest QF match (on paper at least). |
By:
3 out of 4 matches in Sharapova-Bartoli matchup are a bit dated. Also, I am not so sure Cibby is ready to just roll over [;)] if Maria wobbles (serve especially) Cibby will pounce on the chances.
|
By:
Cib may or may not roll over, but the fact that Maria is a 1.3x shot will have a factor.
|
By:
Well she is an obvious favorite, I just think she can't affor to take Cibby lightly, she has the firepower and the mindset to be unpleasant.
If Maria can consistently take initiative in rallies, she wins (unless she massively UEs). |
By:
That is all well and good, but has jack to do with how to price up Bart vs Lisicki compared to the Outright market.

good value losers - all you ever do is troll (and not very well either). I don't recall ever seeing you present anything resembling argumented position. oh do me a favour, you must have a sh1te memory i'm always gobbing off on here, and usually getting it wrong to the delight of the stalkers. here's one i did just earlier today .... good value losers 27 Jun 11 19:04 was so keen on pova for rg then she went awol for the sf she developed a nasty habit of doing that last summer, playing great tennis one round then not showing up for the next. the thinking was (apparently) a stamina issue, and spent all winter with her new trainer addressing that. but after that no show in paris you'd have to be cautious. if she does show up for each match then the title is hers. |
By:
Exactly - what you just posted represents what you consider an argumented position. I don't think it is up to that standard.
More correct would be to say that you are "gobbing off" and that is a different thing entirely. |

Lisicki has only ever lost twice at Wimbledon. One was on her first ever appearance there against Bartoli, as an 18 year old. The other was against a then World No.1 Dinara Safina, after a run where Lisicki knocked out Kuznetsova, and Wozniacki, before she lost in the quarters.....after blowing a 1-0 lead. She's twice the player she was since that game, and five times the player she was when since losing against Bartoli. Since then Lisicki has a 100% record against Bartoli when they've played, the last meeting being in 2011. Serena was appalling today and Bartoli still made a meal of it, most players would have beaten her. Bartoli has already proven she's mentally not right at the moment this week, when she's struggled against her opponents. How will she cope when she's facing an in-form, confident, harder hitting, bigger serving, fresher, younger opponent? Fill your boots with the evens on Sabine surely.

By:
Lisicki ... no need for the boring paragraphs to justfy my pick
|

Harsh Beany
No harm in talking about why your backing someone. |
By:
Beanbag...it was aimed at the big hitters so they bring the price into what should be asap. But now they've read your post Lisick'is price will crash i'm sure. You probably have'nt read this far beacause it's too boring for you (or you have to look in the dictionary too many times), but if you have managed to then I hope you have a pleasant day.
|
By:
Bartoli has already proven she's mentally not right at the moment this week,
She's still got through and saved numerous match points though. And even if Serena wasn't at her best today, for her not to fall apart in the breaker was fairly impressive. That said, I haven't got a clue how this will go |
By:
people being a bit tough on bartoli here, she has mentioned that she wasnt feeling well last week and had a bad stomach in the matches against flavia and lourdes but still came through despite facing match points and each match lasting hours. bartoli is in great form over the last few months too and deserved to beat serena today regardless of how fit serena was, but up against lisicki?? i have to fancy lisicki but would be surprised to see bartoli win at all
|
By:
* wouldn't
|
By:
What i like about Bartoli she goes all out to win the match most of times dont give up like so many other wta players. My money will be on Bartoli if she wins 1st set ill trade out but if she loses 1st set ill lay Liscki more.

What website did you use to get the match information on Bartoli/ Lisicki? FWIW Im with Lisicki for this one :-) |
By:
Im staying away from Lisicki / Bartoli and Cib / Shara - Aza and Kvitova should come through today IMHO
|

Jamie, I'd imagine he was using TennisInsight.com:

LordBobbbin thanks for that, shall take a look
|
By:
bartoli would deserve it more tbf, lisicki had easy draws in 09 and 11, and beating the likes of kuznetsova, porky and li is not something to be really proud of on this particualr surface, barto on the other hand has been a very consistent player on the grass over the last couple of years and will dispose of sabbel quite easily, just like she did with the other bighitters before.
|
By:
"Bartoli has told the press she has an IQ of 175.[3]" That's on wiki in her profile... if that's the case then this should be a walk over for her... evens is good money then!
|
By:
I've got nothing against people explaining their picks
i just rather keep it short and sweet cos this is the only 50/50 match today |
