Just checked out the Joburg field lol, Stephane Robert a seed @ 104 ... If Monfils doesn't p*ss that field, i'll worry about him.
|
By:
well done on the outright -dunno how ya managed that sice ya seemed to back half the players LOL
at least ya can enjoy the match |
By:
Thats a shocking field for SA
|
By:
ya remeber this last year - i think almugo was beat by gill in an absoluet absorbing classic !!
|
By:
Just didnt back the players that the market seemed to adore like Davy and Nadal, got to lay off a decent piece on Cilic which helped and, even though I was late onto Murray, still got him at a price which was a good several ticks higher than he should have been at that time.
|
By:
This is Mugro's real grand-slam run of tournaments, always peaks in SA. Not sure if he's gona play though, think he's getting op on his wrist ?
|
By:
that was in Costa do Sauipe
|
By:
SA = South African (seems it caused confusion) :)
|
By:
ah never know with that guy but feb is a great month for tours -a sh1t load on as well-dunno what i will do tomorrow -i said i would stay away-might wait and back fed if he wins 1st set
|
By:
oh thats rigt -didnt ferrer or chardy win one of them -or tsonga -cant remeber but saw bits of them
|
By:
tsonga beat chardy in the final last year, think that chardy saved MP in the semi against ferrer. tsonga was winning all-sorts around this time last year
|
By:
yeh, ferrer has 3mps against Chardy and lost in the SF
|
By:
any idea if any of this stuff is on BF video next week ? seem to remember zagreb was on later in the week last year ...
|
By:
Chile was on BF last year
Had to find other feeds for the Joberg matches |
By:
Just had a look, Chile and Zagreb on BF - from Monday
|
By:
Fair enough. Always get a good atmosphere when Gonzo is playing down in Chile.
|
By:
jesus lookin at that draw alright looks like they got a few guys in the local bars to make up the numbers
|
By:
Hoping Bellucci's gona be good odds for one of these tourns this Spring, very good player in the making there.
|
By:
He made in the final in Brazil last time around - not going to be huge prices floating around for that!
|
By:
ah i think bellucci is as good as he will ever get tbh
|
By:
Strange decision for Robredo not to play - he has a lot of points to defend on this swing.
|
By:
For some reason, he's playing in Rotterdam ... not sure if he's playing other Euro HC tourns but i'm as confused as you with that one, no way he's gona be defending those points on HC.

Week 3&4: +£104.70
Went for more than i wanted to in the end but I guess this fortnight only highlights how reliable Federer is come slam-time, even though his price drifted like a dam raft in the Indian ocean since November. Looking forward to Roland Garros now B-) But first, some tinpot 250s to eye up : Santiago - Once again, Gonzo is the stand-out player in this, his home field. You can bet your bottom dollar that the organisers will ensure he gets the timeslots he wants and will give him the best chance of winning a third title in a row. So basically, it's in his hands, even though the field here is choc-a-bloc full of top-100 bonafide claycourters who are all capable of beating eachother. However, I can't take any confidence from the 11/8 on offer, however kind his draw is. I do like Schwank's chances of making an impact here and would have taken a punt if he was in the opposite half to Gonzo, but don't fancy it now. Johannesburg - You probably won't find a weaker ATP field than this one this year, Monfils being the top seed and 11/8 fav shows how risky this tournament is to bet on, a great talent that has won one tournament in his career and makes a living from messing up when he looks a good threat. I might be tempted to have a look at some in-running prices if I see someone in form, like a qualifier who's clearly having a career-best run of form, but nothing now that stands out. Zagreb - The most open field of the week, so something to get interested about. Must be said that this has history for being one of, if not the most, corrupt tournaments on the calendar last year and you might find some wildcard mug making the final coming from a set and a break down 5 times in the week, they aren't too subtle here. Cilic top seed but his price is even less backable than the faves in Chile and SA, despite being defending champ, he had a long tiring run in Melbourne and probably just wants to put his feet up, not get involved in several mugathons against players who could exploit his fatigue. Instead, i'm gona look at one or two outsiders and the first one that sticks out is Berrer. Just won a decent standard challenger tournament in Germany dropping only one set, add this to two challenger wins at the end of last season, a crushing of Vliegen in Melbourne and a quarter-final appearance in Chennai a few weeks ago, you've got a man in decent form. Obviously if we were talking 500 or AMS tournament, then forget about him but this level of tournament could be his chance to win a first main tour event. Indoor is his surface, and despite a potentially tricky R1 match, if he wins that then I think he could be pretty tricky to beat and maybe a decent run for my money, which is all I ask. Like the other two, i'll wait in-running to see anybody in a hot streak at good odds but this'll do for now. Michael Berrer to win Zagreb @ 80/1 (£10 e/w, 1/2 odds for 1,2) Plenty of match-bets I like the look of too this week, starting with De Voest over Ram tomorrow. Good luck ! |
By:
Petzschner to beat Berrer @ 5/4 (£55)
Just to be on the safe side and to lock in profit this week. Berrer is looking on great form this week so i'm not really that excited about making this bet but I know as well as anyone that form and logic can go out of the window when you've got countryman vs fellow countryman, in any match, in any place. Petz getting the win tomorrow gives me around £50 profit on the week, but Berrer win and losing in the final gives £350 ish which will be the best week so far this year. Auf ghets you big, cuddly bear-rer ! |
By:
Is that a tip JB?...lol
|
By:
Good write ups by the way...I'll be cheering on Berrer!
|
By:
I am not attempting to be annoy ;)
But Petz is near 2.5 on here. |
By:
Awesome bet on Berrer btw.
|
By:
Thanks jimmy ... lol
I know I realise that now Mac, but there was no liquidity when I made this earlier and couldn't be bothered to wait. |
By:
Rather wait for him to be in the final but so far so good, if you'd offered me Berrer as odds on come semi-finals to make final, i'd have taken it. Wished Lacko had won but hey ho. If Berrer serves as well as he did today ...
|
By:
great tip by JB with berrer. hope u are gonna give your tips for san jose, rotterdam & brazil next week.
|
By:
first time ive seen this jason...nice work
|
By:
taken the week off jason...this week anyway...what price was cilic for this tournament?
|
By:
Cheers blink, i'll check next week out after the final tomorrow.
Evening harry. Understand that you took the week off, took a while to get over not backing Fed in a slam ;) I think Cilic was around 7/4 this week, that sort of ballpark. He's been efficient though, worry I had was that he'd be tired come the business end but not dropped a set yet. |
By:
You will be able to retire soon JB...well at least set up your own tipping line...lol
|
By:
actually making the sensible decision and laying murray at evens gave me the week off ;)
i think id of backed cilic in this field at 7/4 if i was playing...weak field to say the least....you get much on at 80/1? u think he can win? |
By:
I'm still amazed tennisform haven't contacted me yet jimmy :^0
