Valencia was played on blue clay
Bercy is being played on a proper indoor HC. |
By:
pathetic D-fence of my tipping title..how u doin neo?
|
By:
Sod wins tomorrow he knocks muz out of 4th...surely murray wouldnt have to do a lot to regain that spot before oz???
|
By:
Both have 400 to defend in London - but Murray afaik isn't playing any ATP events pre-Aus Open - so will have to make up the difference this year if he wants the 4th seed.
|
By:
tennis doesnt get any better than today, absolutely incredible, llodra and fed both had match points. monfils was totally clutch
lost 650 quid on paris outright whatever the outcome, but first bad week in a while. hopefully that will convince the atp to throw in some faster surfaces.... |
By:
Hear hear
|
By:
That llodra forehand down line he missed
|
By:
I'm now very annoyed with myself - left too much on Monfils - even called it that Soda was a correct fav and possibly over-priced.
I really do hate switching though on outrights. |
By:
You cant of expected sod to serve as well as he did today neo...foot on the pedal and never let up..shocked how easy he had it.
|
By:
His all round game was far better than Monfils - it was very one-sided, even in the 2nd set.
|
By:
Soderling won the two biggest indoor tour titles this season
That's why he's the Indoor King kiddos |
By:
|
By:
He should thank gael for taking out fed.

Murray going 5 has kind of made things harder for my o2 bet...could get the group of death

Murray drifting like a barge.

Last tournament of the year, it's been emotional But let's see if we can end it with a win rather than a wimper. I'll try and keep this shorter than Paris which, let's say, didn't go too well ... lol
London - In Group A, I reckon Nadal will come through with relative ease in beating Roddick and Berdych, two players who are well capable of beating Nadal on this surface on their day but 'their day' doesn't seem near on the horizon. As far as the second spot goes, I can see it coming down to Roddick or Djokovic, both should beat Berdych, and I fancy Roddick will beat Djokovic again (4-0 in last 4 meetings) ... so Djokovic may have to beat Nadal and, with what happened in NYC and Djokovic's priorities in Belgrade becoming more evident, Roddick can force his way through this group. Group B looks even harder to call but I reckon Soderling and Federer will be the ones to make it, Soderling's confidence is on a real high now and, despite not beating anyone of great note in Paris, I don't think there's any real substitute for good form and confidence especially when he's proved that he can beat any of the best players on his day. Murray doesn't look quite all there at the minute for me and I don't think the home factor is a real advantage for him. Federer looked good in Basle and Paris. So my last-four picks are Nadal, Roddick, Federer and Soderling ... and you may be shocked to hear but i'm picking Nadal. Positives for him are that he's fresh, he's super-motivated to win this last big title missing from his CV and his group is much kinder than last year (0-3) so they are opponents he can play his way into form against. Also, the courts are meant to be similar to last year which is pretty medium-slow, so assuming he's not carrying any serious injury, he should handle okay. Negatives, obviously his indoor record is very average, 1 title in his career, and though he's fresh, he's a player who seems to do well with a lot of matches under his belt. While his group is kind, the other opponents from Group-B awaiting are all tough opponents ... but if they are all beating eachother with tough 3-setters, it could work in Nadal's favour later in the competition. And let's face it, tennis can't sink a whole lot lower than it is at the moment so him winning this as well won't make too much difference. Nadal to win WTF @ 10/3 (£85) I quite like Roddick's price of just under 30s at the minute but haven't taken it, instead i've gone with a bit of the 6/4 on him getting out of his group. Soderling's price looks very big too but i'll resist again, banking on Nadal facing him in the final where his superior matchplay can take him through. |
By:
Don't get the tissues out yet, still Davis Sup final to go.
Personally I've gotta go with the "big 4" (not top 4!) getting through the groups, Soderling Murray match on the first day likely to be the most important of the whole group stage, I can see a fresher Murray taking it |
By:
Roddick's price is massive considering the hold he has had over Djokovic the last two years, avoided Fed too. Price massive if Sod and Muzza eliminate the GOAT.
|
By:
RODDICK .... when you talk about this 'hold'... is that the hold he had on him in 2009? its fair to say novak has been in some cracking form in the last few months so im not sure this h2h is significant....some brave people putting faith in A-ROD
JB im shocked you are backing nadal of all people Tennis would officially be dead wouldnt it [;)] |
By:
Made Djokovic look like an amateur in Cinci too when Roddick had some sort of illness
|
By:
HARRY he dismantled him in Cincinnati this year when Novak's form was starting to come back. I am a bit of a Roddick hater but i can't ignore his chances here. Will get an awful lot of support from the mug British crows as per too.
|
By:
Had a few quid @ 32 yesterday. Only outright value i could spot for the week.
|
By:
Roddick is dire, **** all chance in a quality field.
|
By:
Looks like the market leans towards Federer , even though Nadal is my favorite this time I'll go with the flow , I'm taking Federer to win .
|
By:
Good point about the British crowds having an unhealthy obsession over this fratboy, can never understand how anyone could support him full stop.
|
By:
If he's still there in the semi-finals I'll be sure to heckle the hacker.
|
By:
lets just see who wins this time around
|
By:
Nice one Kaiser
|
By:
had a week off, didnt think of tennis once, loved it.
|
By:
I've gone slightly mad and backed Ferrer @ 65
He shouldn't get out of the group, but if he did, would fancy taking on any of the other group in a SF. |
By:
i am feeling slightly mad and giving berdych a decent chance
|
By:
Seems the tournament director has had a word with the spanish lads and said "get me one of those Valencia courts, por favor".
|
By:
yes, having looked at the court it has changed my mind a little, very low bouncing, might not suit berd, wont suit nadal. keep changing my mind, think i will just stick with murray
|
By:
Isn't it the same surface as last year? Nadal didn't do too well then
|
By:
in much better form this year but still dont think he'll win jim, short price too
who you fancy? |
By:
Andy
|
By:
I am a Soderling layer outright
