why is it always a 'lesson learnt' when Federer wins? How patronising to Murray. Fed's been the best in the world for a long time, more so since Rafa's injury problems. Murray played well but beaten by the greatest ever men's tennis player. That's not a lesson.

I think he was beaten by the better player. Its not easy to dictate play and play your shots when the ball is coming back so accurately and so deep.... and so often !!!

i think murray needs to work on forehand and getting the first big hit in, too reliant on players making errors. thats what happened in last set, fed made errors. i think if murray can add summat to his forehand he gonna win a few slams for me but im not sure whether he gonna be able to do it

needed to be more agressive and wasnt, not good enough tactics on the day, and with 36 ues playing those tactics, wasnt a good enough performance

tremendous player, and will win one, but needs to learn and have confidence in his attacking game

These games are decided on tiny margins.... the odd lucky mi** here and there and the thickness of a racket and maybe Andy may have grabbed a set. Federer fullt deserved his win but possibly 3-1 would have been a fairer result

there's no lesson for Murray. It's experience that'll help him for next time, and there will be a next time.

Needed to be more aggressive from the off, he caused Fed more trouble when he started hitting his forehand but where were the backhand winners? He should have been taking it harder into Fed's backhand. The fact that Federer didn't really attack the net as much as you would expect (after he buggered up the break in the first he opted to stay back a lot) shows you just how comfortable he was, he was even opting to hit backhands when he would usually run round and hit forehands. Fed bossed the rallies and when his serve is firing Murray has no chance
