That said, I think the draw is often over stated. Especially with the introduction of the jury vote. "Since 2013, after 9 years of winners coming from the second half, the winner has more often come from the first half of the Grand Final. Arcade (12), Amar Pelos Dois (11), Heroes (10) and Rise Like A Phoenix (11) are the most recent winners to have showcased such an outcome. All of these participants were amongst the pre-Contest favourites to win and their running order placement didn’t change their fortunes." Sweden just need Euro Jury to be vaguely accurate to be home and hosed !

5 countries have won from 8th before, maybe Spain will make it 6.

I think Spain (75 LPM) and France (85 LPM) each are value. A fair jury and they can win that, and potentially going to get a good public vote too. Live outsiders if Sweden don't get the jury landslide.

Obviously they'd be better live outsiders had they got a better draw or slot.

Agree with that. Brutal for their televote chances though as they needed all the help they could get. I'll try to lay at lower odds during jury voting

Great for Finland though

They really should make a rule about the props and how long staging takes to set up. Sweden always gets a better draw because of it. What if everyone had decided to do that? Show would be twice as long.

If you send a big prop that needs a long ad break to set up then you will be guaranteed slot 9 or slot 17 whether first half or second half in final. So send a big prop to avoid being given a rubbish slot.

Just at the start of the contest they show a list of the top 10 countries on screen who have won the contest the most times. in first place is Ireland with 7 wins, In second place is Sweden with 6 wins and down to joint 8th place Ukraine with 3 wins. The presenter(s) also announce that Sweden only needs one more win to have the most wins which may or may not be seen as a subtle hint to push Sweden for the win on the night. The presenter(s) also announce the return of Luxembourg to the contest.

Hmmmit is suspicious to mention that. I don't think they did last year

They haven't done in any previous year that i am aware of where they provide a list of the top x countries who have won it the most when a new country or former country returns to the contest or even without a new or former country returning to the contest. I do find it suspicious that when they show and provide a list this year on screan that they mention that Sweden only needs one more win to have the most wins in the contest (even if they actually tie with Ireland for the most wins) when Sweden is the very hot short odds on fave to win this year with Loreen who would become the first female ever to win the contest twice. Perhaps it is just my suspicious brain that sees it.

I think any mention of a country the more it seeps into the sub consciousness of the viewer. I'm just hoping if they win it's because they're within 100 points of the top of the public vote. If it's done a Heroes of 2015 and hacked up with the jury's then it's a sad non contest already.

One of the biggest travesties was Norway topping the vote in 2019 but finishing 6th overall as the juries somehow only awarded a total of 40. Hard to fathom that.

Good info. I'm sure someone can workout where each country is likely to do better with others - could be good for in-play

A lot of people saying Loreen had a bad last 30 seconds in the Jury Vote yesterday, not that it will matter anyway
By:

Loreen could perform her song without saying a word and the juries will still vote en mass for it.
