Historically, they never have, but;
johnnyrant 15 Dec 18 19:11 This was BF's official response regarding top 3: the Traders have gotten back to me and advised that this year, the BBC will be publishing who placed in the Top 3 for the market we were discussing. Therefore the market will settle as per usual according to what is published by the BBC. Not being settled yet looks a bit ominous |

Dead heat rules apply surely. Layed some evens Lauren so will be p1ssed if they do

They've never publish the figures |
By:
just rang bbc no 2nd 3rd or 4th in strictly
|

Looks like most of the money matched was when down to the final 4. But will be galling for those who laid others who had previously been eliminated as if betfair voids anything it will be the whole market. They only needed to add the dead heat may apply caveat and it would have been sorted (which they did last year)
|
By:
Wouldn't they just settle Stacey as a winner and dead heat the other 3 ? That covers them for the losers who didn't make the final and Stacey who has won it and is top 3 .
|
By:
Bet fred have settled as 1/3 dead heat so only got half my money. Been complaining and they have advised the settlement is correct and final.
Seems impossible to explain that it should be settled 2/3. |

Would pursue that Kauto, think its incompetence rather than anything more sinister. IBAS should be able to sort it out easily, if not go to Paul Fairhead on twitter, @BoycottBetfred

Surely if ITV , a commercial enterprise can produce the voting percentages for IACGMOUH, then the BBC ,as a publicly funded broadcaster
should do the same for Strictly.I don't really understand their reluctance ,what if somebody applied on the freedom of information basis, this is not Russia for goodness sake ! |
By:
The BBC argue that they solely provide an entertainment programme and if people want to bet on it that's their problem. They believe its in the contestants best interest to only be told the winner. If they announced 2nd 3rd and 4th contestants like Ashley could get a complex, so according to the Beeb they are all winners.

Why are Voting Figures for Strictly not published?
We invite you to vote for the dancers that you liked best, based on their performance in each show and during the series. Releasing voting figures could affect the way that people vote, and also have an impact on the participants. We therefore do not disclose the exact voting figures. Although the BBC is subject to the Freedom of Information Act, information which is closely connected to our programme-making is not covered by the Act. The Information Commissioner, who regulates the Act, has confirmed that information about public voting is not covered. We are therefore not required to disclose the voting figures under the Act. |

BBC is adamant in the past and in the present that hell will freeze over before they publish voting figures for the Final Four. The make public only the identity of the winner and 11 previous eliminations.
Betfair was evidently mistaken to believe Betfair's traders without confirming with BBC, that there will arrive an undisputed stage as in previous years revealing Final Three standing. Stacey clearly won in Top Three, so all Stacey backs and lays should be settled as winner of Top Three market. 11 contestants were eliminated before the Last Four, so should be settled as losers of Top Three market. For Ashley, Faye, and Joe, looks like no information will ever be released to confirm who finished 4th in confidential voting total. These 3 are neither winners nor losers. They cannot be settled as triple headheat because no equality of outcome is justified. All backs and lays on these 3 ought to be refunded as NON-RUNNERS, because these 3 cannot win Top Three bet so by the sacrosant betting principle, cannot lose. |
By:
Betfair will not void or settle bets on individual runners unless this market as a whole is voided or settled.
|
By:
i think stacey is top 3 and other 3 are settled dead heat 2/3 steak
rather like a play off in golf you get a winner and others are tied second no matter what their finish in the play off. bookies trying to pay out at 1/3 is crazy, and should lose license |

betfair twitter person claiming the BBC will post the full results on twitter in the next few days
Betfair Help @BetfairCS Following Following @BetfairCS Hi there! We can confirm that the official confirmation of the full results will be provided by BBC via Twitter in the coming days. This market will be settled according to this information. We shall see I guess. As cider says, the rules clearly state that they won't settle bets on individual runners. As always though the rules are ambiguous when it comes to dead-heats. Something that was totally foreseeable given they haven't had an 'elimination' in the final, for the previous 2 years |
By:
Market settled 2/3rds stake on Ashely Joe and Faye. correct decision I think.
|
By:
Very much agree JOT. Using the DH rule where possible, rather than rushing to void a whole market, should always be their default position
|
By:
Clearly the correct way to settle this market in the absence of a definitive result.
