On a serious note ...........
I've had a lay in the system of Joe £100 at 3.5 which was never taken as it was too short. However at 8.30pm last night it was taken which I don't mind as I'd obviously pressed the 'Keep' button days ago.
My question is that the bet reference says 8.30pm but isn't the market closed once the voting starts at the end of the show which was well before 8.30pm so how can this be?
Any ideas please?

The market is suspended when the vote closes Lou
I think last night they were a little slow in suspending it
All I know is they suspended the market at 8.47/48

The market doesn`t suspend when voting starts, only when it finishes.

Thank you so much I genuinely appreciate your help.
I wanted to lay Joe as I'm a bit top heavy on him so wanted to balance it up a bit more but I have a feeling he may be lower than 3.5 tonight so of course I'd rather lay him at the shorter odds.
I'll contact Betfair and ask.

Just checked the end of the show on catch-up. The lines closed at 8.45pm. So only a minute or 2 late

That's probably it then. Although show finished about 8.10pm I think, the lines for voting still open so betting market still open.
Oh well not to worry I wanted to lay it anyway just would have been handy if he were a bit lower to lay tonight.

Only guessing but I wonder if he may shorten to about 3.5 or lower perhaps tonight with Stacey drifting to a similar price?
I think he may shorten more Lou as he's actually leading the Strictly spoiler poll this week.

Yes I thought he was good though Stacey good too I thought though she seemed to be marked down a bit harshly IMO.
Like I've said it suits me if he wins but he's got a few against him still. The obvious three he has to beat and even Charles was good last night in all honesty.

I really do think that IF he wins it wont be down to his dancing but his popularity.

I go in heavy every year on Strictly as don't watch any other 'Specials' at all so look forward to it. I think it's a great programme and this year looking very good for me but still that bit worried about Lauren and Charles.
