Thought it ridiculous that Shirley gave Seann an 8/10 for his dance. He did ok to be fair and I'd say a 6 would have been correct with a 7 really pushing it a bit but come on 8/10? So he was as good on the night as an Ash, Faye, Stacey? Ridiculous.

Cheers figgy buckets - I can leave you to it every Saturday evening.
My thoughts from catching up 11.00 pm onwards (and doing a bit of fast forwarding).
1. Joe - enjoyed the routine, although I think a number of the contestants this year are tending to perform an appropriate routine to the music/theme rather than stick to the dance in question and therefore tend to look samey. Scoring fair enough, obv Craig a little low.
2. Vick - her best but once again more along the lines of performing a routine to the music and theme. I still think there's something missing with this pairing - maybe difficult because she has a newby who is feeling his way in to the show so I don't think they are really connecting and she maybe has this cool girl persona where she's not really throwing herself into it totally which she would probably do better with a seasoned pro such as KfG or Aljaz. Scoring OK, the 8 a little over.
3. Danny - I can barely remember Danny's routine this morning. I think it was adequate, although Danny also always tends to look a little samey. Think he came over a bit grumpy in parts of the VT. Don't feel he is really progressing or building up more support. Scoring about right.
Would have all the above as good routines, required dance a tad average so pretty much 7s all round.
4. I didn't like Faye's Rumba at all. I think she looked too tall for it so her weakest and not her dance for me. Another 7 dance.
5. Katie's Jive was painful to watch and they clearly went down the faint praise route. Don't think it even merited any 5s. That said I expected her to just about escape.
6. I enjoyed Charles and Karen's routine. He too tends to look a little samey every time. I thought he might just about escape.
7. I can hardly remember Lauren's dance other than thinking it's both mature and endearing the way AJ dances with her arm, in that it's barely noticeable during their routines. I thought this was a big test of her support and thought it likely she could be in the dance off.
6s and 7s fair for Charles and Lauren's dances.
8. Dr Ranj was a lot better than in the training clips and didn't have so many props and gimmicks to contend with so much better for me - a 7 dance.
9. Kate's Samba was truely woeful together with the mumsy frumpy styling. She thinks she is better than she is, although tbf they have built her up too much so far. A 4 dance for me and expected to have to see the horrible dance again.
10. Graeme's dance was great fun, but he is always performing along the same lines in these upbeat dances. Now we don't have Anton, think they may adopt the comedy routine with more and more outrageous silly props and outfits. I thought the space outfits at the beginning were unnecessary. A 6 dance for me but never expected him to be in dangern
11. Ashley's tango didn't do it for me as I hate the song, hated the styling (bit of a throwback to ****cat Doll styling) and found it all a bit stop-start but understandable because of the beat of the song. Not really a classic tango at all - 7s and 8s I suppose because she is good dancer although not convinced how engaging a dancer she is.
12. I thought the show dealt with the Seann/Katya situation really well and this dance was vibrant, exuberant and a triumph and good to see them looking so happy after what has no doubt been a horrendous week for them. I would give the routine 8s for the sheer joy of it and the lifts, etc. were exceptional, probably 7s for the swivel and steps. Interesting they showed so much of the Charleston expert (i.e. looking like Seann and Katya were not left alone). I would have them in the top few in the PV last night.
13. Stacey and KfG have calmed down a little after their early over exuberance. TBH I can't really remember their routine much after Seann and Katya. However at the moment I see Stacey and Kev as ticking the right boxes to be outright winners. Good partnership, the non-dancer element, they are dancing the dances properly and classically, Kev's turn at least. We know how well he has done with his partners and Stacey strikes me as a lot more likeable than EE Kellie and looks better as a dancer than insipid Louise.
I was expecting Kate and Lauren in the dance off with Kate going, but I am relieved Katie has gone as I didn't enjoy watching her routines and can't ever see her making a dancer. A little surprised no bounce for Charles but then there was no bounce for Lee (maybe allegiances are fairly solid this year). Interesting to see what happens with Charles next week.

Driving home last night, I caught a Stephen Nolan 5Live phone in about Seann & Katya. There were these youngish-sounding women as sort of "panellists" - sort of TV bloggers, SCD fans, possibly Mumsnet types.
Anyway, their slant was that Seann & Katya were sullying the show, shouldn't be there, made it awkward, it should be family viewing, brought the show into disrepute, blah blah.
However, pretty much all phoning in (including a Lancashire lady in her 90s who they finished on and who was the most vocal) were of the opinion that it had been blown up out of all proportion, the media go too far with it hounding them etc., it was "only a kiss", let them get on with the show, no need to make any further issue of it. Even those unhappy with Seann & Katya's behaviour were not convinced they should be made to leave the show by the prods. Little old lady said we don't know what the rest of them are getting up to behind closed doors!
So I had now idea what had happened with Seann & Katya's routine but felt confident they were in no danger whatsoever.

The judges apart from Bruno were guests on JR show, aired last night but obviously filmed before the SCD live. Most of the chat was about the Sean(n) and Katya blow up. Ross obviously felt that they should have been kicked out, he didn't say that outright but his line of questioning made it pretty clear what he thought. The judges, in particular CRH were defending Sean(n) and Katya, or at least defending them being kept on the show. It was pretty clear that SCD weren't going to be gunning for a convenient dance off defeat this week anyway. But it was clarified that the dance originally planned was changed by the producers after the s hit the f. I feel like Sean(n) might be in the cross hairs next week tho!

Stacey got some plaudits on Points of View for her investigative shows. I imagine the extra exposure on SCD will give her investigative documentaries more viewers.

I think they already had a plan to get rid of Katie and wanted to follow that through. Lovely girl but looking like you're going to burst into tears from judges comments isn't a comfortable look. I agree they'll push for an early exit for Seann who is an embarrassment to a feel good family show because it was the most unpleasant instance of "the curse" due to the ruthlessly brilliant statement of Seann's ex. And the public don't know that Katya's marriage is merely one of convenience.
One thing I don't get is that it's like Seann and Katya knew they were being photographed.

I don't agree with H that Katie was the target. If so why all the ties? Maybe no target, or Charles c0cky behind the scenes too and they wanted him out
