What's Maggie's routemap to victory? Huge welcome as would have been anticipated but that will dissipate as the series progresses. Without significant prod help it's tough to see what will keep her in the game. 4/1 looks mighty short.

Maggie not a cert but current price probably fair at this point.

Live feed watchers saw  Ashley rule herself out last night, my second max red.
Most unusual for me, this `women` thing; I invariably have a sea of max reds at the top of the ladder after so short a time, but I`m convinced a woman wins this year, so have had to be disciplined, and not lay away as normal. Having just two max reds so far really is taking all the discipline I have, itching to lay all the men. Market at 62.6%, something like a 12% increase overnight, but take out India and Ashley, and the market still has it only 50%-odd that a woman wins; seeing as one does, we`re effectively getting double odds on the only six possible winners.

Nobody wins this show for being a rock, or a good listener. As I alluded to that doesn't motivate voting.

Accepted wisdom is that nice can win civilian BB but audience expects entertaining from CBB winner...Coleen an exception I guess but shows there is an alternative route to victory

bravery
integrity
standing up for the week

remember Julian Clary staying loyal to Julie Goodyear when the whole house turned on her - maybe he would have won any way but that must have been another 10% of the vote.

The winner doesn't need to be a the center of the narrative - just being congruent is worth a lot.

Clary won because his behavior in the house was congruent with peoples perception of him at the beginning of the show.
He was a sweet and lovely bloke,  if he had turned out to be a backstabbing conniving **** he would not have won.

Maggie doesn`t look like she will be central to much, so would normally be max red material; if, however, you believe TPTB will be able to get a woman over the line quite easily, then all eight should be half their current price, meaning laying now at 5.x is folly, as her true mathematical price is about 3.0. Exclude India and Ashley, and her true price is nearer 2.75/ Don`t get suckered into playing this year `normally`, it ain`t a normal series.

If you're comparing Maggie to Clary as a runner, zoom, personally I feel that's hugely wide of the mark. I see absolutely no similarities. I was happy to pile into Clary before any action in the house as it was blatantly obvious he had perfect credentials to be able to win the show.

That`s the basis of my book, zoom. I`m with Cider, in that Maggie`s got an awful long way to go, and I don`t think she`s our winner. But laying at 5.0 is DOUBLE her true price, so probably best not to lay now. Instead, lay every man, or back a few of the females, the value is on your side, big style.

It can be spun anyway at the end, true equality would be all the runners having a equal chance of winning that is not based on their gender.

Clary was cuttingly hilarious, his razor sharp wit consistently shone through the whole series. The 'nice' thing is a red herring, he was nice along with 10 or so other qualities, self deprecating etc. Maggie is more like a Cosmo who will likely just fizzle out as there's only so many times the Rochdale story will make the edit. She might get plenty of prod help though, tbc.

It looks likely to be an interesting series anyhow, not plays from me as yet.

We`ve all been at this RTV malarkey for years, we all  know the pimping of TCO`s is incredibly powerful, be it CBB, XF, IAC, whatever. This year, TPTB have laid their cards out in the open; we want a woman winner. Therefore, slightly surprising to see that so many old hands on here aren`t taking notice of the signals. Not as if they`re in Indian smoke, more like having alarm clocks tied to your head, each ringing to destruction, yet STILL being ignored! Picture such people as Wile E Coyote; those taking note, more like Roadrunner.

It's about timing as usual, tim. On CBB I'm not fussed about getting a great price, I am fussed about clearing a profit. I've not seen anyone I'd commit to as yet, not on a betting front in any case! Lots more clues to be gleaned.

India as 2nd fav means no more than the market is its usual clueless self; every Specials market is always wrong. To link that to men being favs to win is twaddle. If that statement was anything more than rhetoric, you can lay all the women, right now, at 54.7%, which is pretty much 5/6, giving you 6/5 any male winner. Do things properly and put up offers and wait to be laid will give you 6/4 any male, even if your money goes up at best current prices.
