ukraine- azerbaijan and italy seem like the overated songs to me, this is why the top ten market has so much value this year
in terms of the winner it will end up being a two way fight between norway and denmark

Before 3am UK time AFAIK.The order of qualifiers on this page is interesting.http://www.svt.se/melodifestivalen/eurovision-song-contest-2013-hela-resultatet
i seen that too popking, the order given is not the order that they were pulled out or in order of actual performance so why have it listed the way given.

I must admit i did take a few positions based on the svt article... mainly thats when I started my Netherlands top 10 backing
Hard to see Russia down in 8th though

OK I have a couple of questions/suppositions: 1) With the the West Balkans and Bulgaria out - does this mean that the vote will tilt more towards eurovision fanboy territory (as voters will be less interested in voting). If so that may mean the jury votes count for more. It might help Greece but if voters are less motivated we may have some strange results. 2) Given that the voting blocks are so out of kilter how anyone can justify Denmark's odds is beyond me as there is MAJOR upset potential. It's a decent song and performed well but it is not cutting edge and appeals to fans of the more old fashioned eurovision sound (whistles, drums, pseudo celtic sound). It is more likely to just scrape through than be a runaway winner. I think there will be twists and turns aplenty and that one has to favour an Eastern entry which for me would be a pity as my favourites are France, Norway and Finland.

i just hope that the balkans don't boycot the soviet block and the scandinavian block in protest of not being able to qualify. That would result in strange voting but I don't believe that they would do such a thing.

I agree about Norway being cold but I'm a little leery of Denmark's performance on the tracker (it might be a second like Eric Saade was). It might be eurovision fans buying into it more than the general public.
Are all the other countries for sale in all territories?

I really can't see a runaway winner. When Greece won, they were still reading all the points for every country and the voting took ages and ages. She was only about 8th or so after half the voting and was very exciting even without the formula that is supposed to make it that way now.

;-) it's great. That BBC 3 doc the other night showed when the UK was pipped on the last vote by Switzerland (Celine Dion) - it would be marvellous if we could have something close to that..

Oh well, it always takes a couple of songs for people to get into it anyway. Every Eurovision party I've been to has had far too much chatting, eating and drinking early on that you only really begin to take notice when it gets dark outside

Moldova in third place isn't exactly the best call too. It looks to me that they decided the running order more based on odds than on how the songs would work together as a show. They want to seem to be fair so they put the favourites in the first half as much as possible into the middle. It's so contrived it's untrue
