Southern rednecks don't vote for big black shouty woman

Candice not getting top 3 wasn't any big surprise...dodgy VT's where she came across as a biitch and awful overrated/overplayed dirgy song for the 3rd week running. Her genuine tears at Burnell going must have helped though.
Kree getting top 3 is a worry for those who don't have her onside...early performance nothing special but was still in there..maybe showed a little more personality this week? Could be concerning evidence of a southern vote here. Angie top 3 due to pimp and residual fanbase again performance was nothing to write home about. Previous bottom 3 placed Lazaro being in the top 3 for me says it all....neither of them are getting a massive vote , the competition is yet to get started properly..it's still up for grabs. Janelle looks to be finished though, and the American public are not having Amber at all are they? The Whitney comparisons have really done her over. It's still all about the big three for me and sticking with Candice in hope they unleash her with the big wow factor ballads. Black women do have a decent record in these shows so bit of a myth saying they don't get votes...none of them have been as black as Candice though so I know what George means there..but she's so much better than this lot it's embarrassing. She can still do this. |

Possibly Hammy.....at least we know Candice didn't this week ![]() ![]() Quite feasible there is no runaway leader, with voting being quite fluid.Candice is a big price on the High St now if that is your view.I do agree with the concern over Kree btw....and as I posted earlier,when/if Janelle goes, she's likely to mop up a few more southern votes also. |

One good looking male left who is actually a better singer than a few previous WGWG winners. Teen girls and MAMs aren't going to vote for boring women which is what is left for them. Also lazaro is playing AI a lot like Chris Maloney did so he has my anti establishment support.
Like Chris he will probably go 3rd but the demographics are a bit different here and i think Lythgoe et al will be worried and will get ever more desperate to get rid of him. C'mn the Laz! |

Something ultimately sterile about bacharach/david songs I think.
The Laz has chosen Angels. He's a smart kid. Last week We Are The Champions with its "I've made my mistakes" etc lyrics and now we have "save me". I really think the guy is a genius and without him there is no Idol this year. Lots of people's guilty pleasure and I think he is capable of pulling one out of the fire as his voice is ok really. If he forgets his lyrics again he could be fecked though. |
By:
Probably has a better chance if he DOES forget his lyrics
![]() According to The Idol Pad, next week’s theme is… Divas and Songs From The Year You Were Born Here are the remaining finalists birth years. It’s going to be a 90′s fest! Big night for Candice...pimp...like the first song...2nd version is Adele one I think which is a bit bland when I listen to it...but we'll see.

I think you're going to be very happy Hammy
![]() ![]() Could someone post the results please as I'm going to be away for a couple of days........cheers. |

will do 2moro morning if nobody else has beforehand.
Hope everything goes OK Hems, or at least as well as these things ever can. Best of luck. |

Is it my imagination or does a different runner come to the fore every week this year??
|
By:
candace storms it but I still think she won't win. Ironic 3/4 judges had her outside their top 3 then almost literally sprinkle her with pixie dust. Lazaro really shyte it seems so hopefully that makes him safe again

Kree, Janelle, Angie, Candice....?
|
By:
here goes for the second time, betfair lost my first post
![]() Kree - most likly to win, but not the best candice - will be hard to get over the bias of the voters to win, my fav this week Janelle - not as good as kree and to pretty to swim in the same tank as Kree, fodder also ran Amber - thrown under a bus with song choices to make way for candice, liked the vulnerability she showed other weeks, done now Angie - anodyne, with out the ability to gather enough votes to win Lazaro - chico meets gareth gates with comedy singing |
By:
Candice is the only real talent in this really bad series imo. Find Kree, Amber and Janelle boring. Angie doesn't feel the songs and poor Lazaro
![]() This weeks results: Candice & Kree Top2 Janelle & Angie Middle Amber & Lazaro Bottom Lazaro goes home. |

A show that will live long in the memory!
Candice's first song I thought was amazing as well the rest of the show after that just felt like everyone was waiting for her 2nd and the others were just a side show. "Love Song" just transcended through to everyone watching it, fantastic...but I've come to expect that from her, the GOAT on a talent show. Kree is obviously a big threat. Always in the top 3/2 , southern, country. Will sell records, competent voice...but she is incredibly boring, i fear she is TCO though. That said the buzz over Candice over the last 48 hours has been very loud. She has over 650,000 youtube views (which has a lag) of "lovesong" just listening to it a few hours ago and 47 comments were added in about a 5 minute period....and it's been given a mention on a few TV shows over there as well. So she is very much on the radar and top 2...wouldn't surprise me top so she can win, if they want her too. |
By:
Looking more like a 2-horse race, Kree v Candice?
Funny, because Angie seemed class too, but not competing for some reason - perhaps they never wanted her to win. |
By:
I break even with Kree. If Angie can't make top 2 with a piano song looks like she is struggling. Telling that Candace not in 3/4 top 3 judges choices last week. I guess you can't rule Candace out because she can nail it to such an extent she could overcome the voting demographics. Boring year though. We need a WGWG.......
|
By:
Must admit, not having a viable male candidate does make the competition seem a little boring.
|
By:
Hang on, how does having not having a nailed on SWGYG 4/1 shot make it boring? It's much better! I guess if you're not on one of have the main runners at 20/1 (who is capable of doing THAT) it could be considered boring
![]() Candice now on 900,000 youtube views for Lovesong. I've just read there are 5 weeks left so still a way to go. Hope they hold back some of these jazzed up ballads they are drip-feeding her for the later stages as America so obviously loves them. George when the judges gave their top 3 that was so obviously contrived. The producers knew she didn't make the top 3 and the judges had waxed lyrical about her the night before so to preserve their 'power' integrity I would suggest that was very much orchestrated. Amber and Janelle look nailed on to be out the next 2 weeks but I think we may need a week of nobody going for the numbers to add up? I still think Candice has even more in her locker and even top last night she is THAT good. |
By:
I don't know, just loses some of the texture to have only one gender in it, with 5 still left.
|
By:
Maybe the almost uber embarrassing overhyping of Candace was because she was flirting with the B2?
|
By:
Or maybe because she deserved it? (which she did)...she was comfortably in mid table last week after a run of awful songs and terrible VT's...hardly needed to praise to get her through after her knockout performance.
They do go OTT though...Keith on his knee's was a bit cringy. It seems a standing ovation is not enough these days and they have to surpass that now by doing praise signs and sprinkling glitter...and we still have 5 weeks left !! They should ban standing ovations and reel it in...they'll be w@nking them off on stage next. |
By:
...oh I just happen to have some magic pixie dust here I will use to run on stage and sprinkle over someone...now who did TPTB say it was to be? Interesting that mariah said she had been told off by "TPTB".
Not saying Candace isn't the worthy winner. She is based on what is left. My book says I hope she gets beat though. |
By:
Just catching up.....Candice by far the best of the night, but the scripted pimping/ramping was very funny.Randy was in raptures after two lines,as GB2 says Mariah luckily had some glitter to hand, and as Hammy says Keith's bowing was cringeworthy.
I also can't see how Candice "chose" that song as "A song I wish I wrote".My guess is she had been fed it for "Year of my Birth" week, but they had to bring it forward a week, owing to her poor polling the week before. Obviously disappointed that Angie didn't make Top 3.Was fully expecting Candice to top the vote after the show, but Kree beating Angie wasn't the result I was hoping for.I'll have to hope the % were close, and singing first was a contributory factor, but I'd certainly be happy if I was a Kree backer. I imagine its Amber's turn to get the pimp and the gushing praise this week, although tbf they have been pushing her all series, and it doesn't seem to be resulting in votes. She looks a very unlikely winner still to me,along with Janelle. I managed to burgle a bit of 5/1 Candice with VC the morning after the show as they had kept their overnight prices up,and she's now level for me.I haven't given up hope with Angie, although confidence has obviously been dented by the last set of results.Kree now looks the most likely winner though,I suppose so all in all not a great week personally. |
By:
*didnt make Top 2*
|
By:
Think they would like Amber to win. They know any pitch issues they can sort out int he studio and they think she looks the part etc. Trouble is she ain't connecting with the audience. As for Kree they keep pushing the country girl thang but is she country?
|
By:
They've molded Kree into an old style country throwback, so yes she is country and pretty decent as what she does. Probably getting lots of Middle America 40 year old + votes. She is however very bland and boring...i think every winner before them has had at least something a little about about them but she is quite emotionless. Even the inbred vote en-masse country lot must see that about her.
Amber is very marketable her 2nd song this week the one with the bouncy beat that sounded very up to date. The reason she's not getting the votes goes back to the first live show when the judges said she has the performance of the night after Candice had performed Who I Had Nothing ![]() Have to agree hard to see Angie winning now especially when you take into account she was pretty decent this week (by her standards) and received a standing ovation for her piano showing...but she'll bounce. |
