Dancing on Ice series eight will commence on January 6, 2013.
ITV announced the return date over Twitter, one week after revealing that the show's lineup of professional skaters has been overhauled.
"It's back! Dancing on Ice returns 6.15pm Sunday 6 January on ITV1," the network wrote.
Frankie Poultney, Nina Ulanova, Matt Gonzalez, Brooke Castile, Jodeyne Higgins, Sean Rice, Lukasz Rozycki and Alexandra Schauman will not be returning for the upcoming series, meaning many of the celebrity contestants will have new skating partners.
Next year's lineup is rumoured to include Pamela Anderson, Anthea Turner, Coronation Street's Samia Ghadie, former EastEnders actor Matt Lapinskas, gymnast Beth Tweddle, The Only Way is Essex star Lauren Goodger, rugby player Gareth Thomas, singer Dionne Bromfield and comic Joe Pasquale.
Five of the new professional skaters have been named as Robin Johnstone, Jenna Harrison, Andy Buchanan, Olga Sharutenko and Michael Zenezini.
Jason Gardiner will return as a judge to replace last year's panellist Louis Spence, while Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley will continue to host the programme throughout the next series.

X Factor bosses have teased a new ‘fifth judge’ aspect to this year’s auditions.
In a teasing Twitter post, the show’s official social media accounts revealed an announcement will be made this coming Friday, ahead of Saturday night’s TV premiere of the new series.
This year’s line up of judges has seen Sharon Osbourne make a return to the panel, joining Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger.
Every aspect of the show has been revamped, with a completely new double audition stage that’s seen the comeback of the judges’ rooms.
The categories were given straight after, putting a new spin on bootcamp which itself has gone under a radical transformation to add drama and plenty of tears.

Speaking of Dave, anyone else watching `Long Lost Families`? I hated her on BB, and her very presence on `Million Pound Drop` stops me from ever watching it. However, she is quite good on LLF.

I'm usually with you squares. I hated Surprise surprise. But that was in a big glitzy studio with bloody Cilla Black dragging some poor soul up on stage which made it feel very exploitative. LLF is made by the same people who produce WDYTYA and has a similar feel to it. Far more heart, care and thought goes into the whole the show.

Big Brother's Brian Belo reaches settlement with TOWIE bosses after claims they stole the idea from him 11 Oct 2013 16:56

Big Brother winner Brian Belo has reached a settlement with ITV and Lime Pictures, after taking legal action against the makers of TOWIE last March.
According to Broadcast, the case was due to be heard at the High Court today but a final attempt at negotiations saw all parties reach a settlement.
Belo, himself an Essex boy, claimed that the makers of the structured reality soap had adapted and reproduced part of a format he had originally developed with Sassy Films and Massive TV.
The trio said they took the idea to Lime Pictures in March and July 2009 and sent a tape and treatment to ITV in November 2009. The show launched on ITV2 in 2010.
They also highlighted a series of emails that they believe demonstrated ownership of the format.
A key part of ITV's defence was that the concept developed by Belo, Sassy and Massive - called Totally Essex - was not a “dramality” show like The Only Way is Essex, but a “fly on the wall documentary".
Watch the Totally Essex trailer below.

The winner of this year's X Factor will release their single during the week of what qualifies as the 2013 Christmas No.1.
The ITV show has avoided the festive chart battle for the last two years, but the Official Charts Company has announced that the single will release on Monday, December 16 - following the contest's final the day before - with the No.1 being revealed the following Sunday, December 22.
2011 winners Little Mix and 2012 winner James Arthur both reached the top spot, but their singles were released the week before Christmas.
Matt Cardle's Biffy Clyro cover in 2010 was the last X Factor winner's single released during Christmas No.1 week and it topped the charts.
In 2009, however, Joe McElderry was beaten to No.1 by an anti-Simon Cowell campaign's push for Rage Against The Machine's 1993 single 'Killing In The Name'.
Also in the running for this year's Christmas top spot are 11-year-old choirboy Jack Topping and Britain's Got Talent finalists Richard & Adam
