Olympic star Beth Tweddle has reportedly signed up to Dancing On Ice 2013.
Show bosses have also managed to get former EastEnders star Matt Lapinskas and Coronation Street actress Samia Ghadie on the line up for the show, which returns to ITV1 in the new year.
“Olympians are competitive people so it was a no-brainer to sign one up,” a source claimed. “Beth has great poise for obvious reasons and was keen to give it a go.
“We’ve seen her on the ice and she’s very good. She’ll be a great contender.”
Speaking to The Sun, the insider added: Matt and Samia will be great too. They’re good skaters and our viewers love the soap stars.”
It was recently claimed that Jess had been one of a number of Olympians to turn down the show.
A source told the Daily Star: “The show would love an Olympian but there is no way they are going to take any risk. They are not going to put their next Olympics or world championships in jeopardy.
“You can easily pick up a knee injury on the ice that could be for life.”
Other celebs linked to the new series of DOI include TOWIE star Lauren Goodger, Pamela Anderson and Former Blue Peter presenter Anthea Turner.
Dancing On Ice airs in January on ITV1.
