Mine a minus mostly due to Norway.

I also thought Norway was the best pop song Sad

It's just an opinion.

I thought it worked very well on tv.

It was trending for ages on twitter (UK) afterwards which suggests it appeals to a western audience.
And has plenty of eastern votes in the bag already.

To quote Sara Cox " It was beautiful"

I suspect she's more representative of voters than you funky.

Now go away and let some sensible betting discussion take place.

Moldova could suffer from Jedward and juries, while Ukraine could get lost with Austria/Slovenia singing in tune. And both with bad draws

My wife and daughter both liked Azerbaijan along with the usual slushy suspects Iceland and Finland but it augurs well if they appeal to a western audience. Russia luck dead in the water now along with Hungary trap 1 for Finland whilst not ideal not a total disaster great draw for Serbia and Georgia both niche songs with nothing comparable so those 2 with Azerbaijan tonights big winners.

Wow, what a night?! talk about drama!!

There's one or two key contenders who could draw 20 or 23 - but if not, I think Azeri's draw in 19 gives them a great chance Happy

I hope Semi 2 works out as well as tonight, 5 winners from 6! I backed Georgia, Greece, Finland & Hungary all to qualify, Finland to 'beat' Norway, and layed Turkey at 1.08! Great result for a few on here eh?! a back of Serbia at 5/2 to NOT qualify the only bet that went down for me tonight.

Who are people's thoughts (not yours Funky [;)]) on what the 1-2-3 might've been tonight? I've not to my shame seen all of tonight's proceedings yet as the missus wanted The Apprentice on! Blush

Its your 90% song, 10% other stuff that gets me Funky. You just dont want to change something thats so completely wrong.

I underestimated the draw factor to my cost tonight, you seeem to almost completely ignore that and voting allies.

Aside from wanting to have my selections critiqued I actually try to educate and or put people on to winners, thats genuinely what I try to do as I love to see people winning. I'm so wasting my time with you I'm putting my first ever person on ignore.

I suggest you do the same

FLL, OTEOI - Azer win, with Finland & Greece making up the places is my best result and would make it an all time classic night here in Roach Towers, so here's hoping you're right!

Majoroak - I got 2.7 on Finland to beat Norway. That was about 2 weeks ago. Was seemingly still based on their prices about 2 months ago!

FLL - Kicking myself too that I didn't lay Turkey for more. Especially as I saw this morning's 1.08 come into 1.05 tonight I think? but a nice result of course

jr, I've been paid out on both of my bwin Greek/ Turkey head to heads.

Rules for the 1st one -

Eurovision Song Contest 2011 (Dusseldorf/GER) (Head-to-Head Turkey/Greece (at least one country must qualify for the final for bets to stand))

2nd one -

Eurovision Semi-Final 1 - 2011 (Dusseldorf/GER) (Head-to-Head Turkey/Greece)

Nothing about either having to make the final in the 2nd one.

Where did you place your bets?
Report roach May 11, 2011 1:36 AM BST

Pain to withdraw by the looks of it though.
I've used paypal and it looks like they may well want all sorts of id.

roach - I've never been big on Bosnia. I believe the song is too blokey and takes too many listens to get into.
Rather like Turkey in many ways.
On the plus side he's a much more enagaging performer than the baldie aging turkish rocker and he's really loved by many bosnians and other people from the balkans, living there or more inportantly in other  western european countries. Especially Scandinavia it seems.

I love the song, but I'd be surprised if it won even with a good late draw in the final.
Report johnnyrant May 11, 2011 2:18 AM BST
Shouldn't be too difficult fll - I've been through the same procedure with bwin. And yes, paid out too, as well as on other bets. Fair play to them for being so swift.
