popking - because apart from the strong support for Johnson from the grans and those connected to the armed forces, I believe the vote is very fluid.
Even someone not particularly likeable like that Rachel in XF went from bottom to top in one week.
Laura is actually rather likeable and was ramped to the heavens.

Lol at how opinions change so quickly on this show. Last week Sam gets praised and is hammered back into well odds on. People on here saying Laura should be a million to one to win. Bit of a role reversal this week huh?
I find it very amusing

I don't credit voters with too much intelligence, always a good default position, so I put Chloe in some trouble of b2. Laura grabbing a lot of her vote, plus people thinking that she's safe.

See Bonnie, Zaraah, Jess, Zoe etc. for evidence it hasn't really happened on DOI.

Jess went from tiny %'s to top after a massive ramp in the semi final.

Im happy with both my Chloe positions. Massive green overall, massive green for elimination. B2 and no elimination as a few suspect, not so hot [;)]

Laura - 6+5 = 11
Jeff - 5+2 = 7
Denise - 4+4 = 8
Chloe - 3+3 = 6
Sam - 2+1 = 3
Johnson - 1+6 = 7

Very true squares, I did find it all quite emotional.

As they have dumped JBVC to bottom, I'm now hoping that Laura and Jeff poll well, in order to take the higher points available. (obviously not as high as Magic though)

Bexley, if I had to place a bet, I'd go for Johnson. I think this is the one and only way that the judges are gonna get him out if the Star thing is true (which I don't necessarily believe). He can not win, even if he gets to the Top 3, it will devalue the 'it's about skating' element of the show.

Johnson only has to beat Sam and Chloe.  There's strong evidence he has been hammering them so I don't see why this week would be different.

Sam versus Chloe seems most popular choice must admit it looks most likely to me.

It is actually about all round performance and improvement Danzaa, that is why ringers tend not to do well, unless they are very popular/likeable.

Agre that this is their chance to get rid of Magic though, but disagree that it gets harder the further he goes.
I am utterly convinced he would gain the momentum of the public vote if he made it to the final three.

At the end of the day, with Reality TV, 99% of the time, merit will eventually shine through. We're now getting rid of the Widdecombe-esque contestants for the final push.

I don't go by the Star or anybody else, I tend to go by my own judgement. My judgement is that he is the kind of guy who would rate highly in a popularity contest for skaters, obviously deramping by the panel does not help his case.

The clue was the big prices continually dangled on Sam for bottom 2, and offered on Chloe to be eliminated and bottom 2. I don't believe it was some reality tv betting guru who has knowledge of these markets on a level beyond 99% of the regulars on here.
As for people who suddenly pop up on these threads and claim it was all completely obvious really are taking the p*ss.

If Johnson is doing well in the public vote, then Sam must have outpolled him and therefore been top. Chloe must have been one below Johnson or she'd have gone out. Jeff also must have outpolled Denise which is very odd considering their bottom 2.

So, if Johnson has been polling well and given the Star's reliability it would seem so, the order probably was:

Sam
Johnson
Chloe
Jeff
Denise

With Laura slotted in anywhere except between Johnson and Chloe.

Sam obv had a good pv tonight, and looked in danger being left until late.

yeah, but it was when Sam was 4-1 or bigger, and huge amounts fll - that seemed very odd to me, unless that was you as well, in which case, well done.
2-1 was also offered Chloe bottom 2, and her price stayed at 8-1 for elimination which also seemed too big given the likely scoring scenarios.

JBVC not surprising at all really. Discussed at length on main fred. Denise vote completely collapsing is more surprising, but she was never a backable price until skate-off in my opinion.

Agree about the strange market moves tonight and last week Johnny 2/1 chloe bottom 2 consistently laid looked a bit suspect to me and plenty wanting to back johnson bottom 2 at 2.5ish. Maybe Im just reading events wrong but I never saw tonight coming at all.

Can't see a bounce for johnson. Do marmites get bounces? Think he's become a marmite in the sense that the tipping point in the public consciousness has been reached where there is a general feeling that better skaters are getting voted out.

Lots of good brains on here thought that this would be the best chance ever for a popular non skater to win.  Fill your boots for ever now laying this type of character in all such contests in years to come.

I believe the star story was correct and he led for 7 of the 1st 9 weeks.

I think Denise's aggressive husband did her in tonight. And Johnson's floating voters may have been lulled into a false sense of security by the gushing praise he got from the judges (maybe a production decision to kill with kindness).

Don't think so aj.  Winner will come from top 2 best average skater. That can't be jeff or johnson so they will go next 2 weeks.

Henry, agreed - didn't know who it was at first, i just found it weird and annoying , and would put me off voting for her ..if i voted!

JBVC was bottom. I can't see his supporters being feeling secure in those circumstances.

As for Denise, they did a Nolan on her. Her vt made out it was all geting too much for her.

Of course there could be another twist and Johnson's ex forces buddies could storm the stage, gag and electrocute one of the judges. Then again they could leave that til the 'flying' week when JBvc abseils down covered in camouflage, drops a smoke bomb and takes Jason hostage.
The latter gets him knighted imo however the synchnocricity of the whole thing along with a weak core and poor lines may see him booted off by other judges.

These things aren't fixed in stone, as the slump in Johnson's PV yesterday showed (and as past voting on all these competitions shows us). Both Chloe and Laura have lovely personalities but GBP are fair and make the winner the one who wows them the most - mixture of: technical skill; romance; excitement.

Laura wins. Having watched all their dances many times I think that Chloe is not as good as the judges' 2 weeks of ramping have suggested.

Yes it may not have been much of a slump. He may have still been 3rd in the PV but I don't know of any likely combination that would have had him as 2nd.
