Just an inkling that he may well finish top 3.

16-1? Mmmm....

Would have thought he will be the biggest hit by the X factor clash.

i've not looked into this market at all, so feel free to shoot my opinion down.

but 150/1 for Daley to win this? 16/1 for top three?

fk me! they're fantastic bets. i've just had a whack on both.

Feck all chance of winning tbh othh, and 16s for top 3 is about right

i'm sure the market's like it is for a reason, george, but it looks mental to me.

button's a decent bet cos f1's on the bbc, but he's not exactly the world's most-likeable sportsman, is he? he's a lay for me at odds-on.

giggs? his price was invented by you, wasn't it? no chance.

i have no idea who jessica ennis is :(

david haye could be a chance, but he's on Sky

Mark Cavandish another decent-looking bet. Beth Tweddle could do well

and then Tom Daley, the poster-boy for the 2012 Olympics, who won the biggest title available in his sport this year, who was the housewives' favourite at the Games on the BBC last year, who should be very popular with the SCD-type audience who won't be watching XF... i mean, if I was pricing this up from scratch I'd have him in my Top 3 every time.

There are quite a few negatives othh but he's a total star in front of the camera so wouldnt surprise me to see him shorten in running.

Personally I think his achievement is the greatest in the field, he's a 15yo World Champion in the Blue Riband event in his sport and he came from 4th to 1st with a perfect last dive. Unfortunately, it was on Eurosport

I'm flattered you give me so much credit on Giggs ;-)

How do you rule him out though?

Presumably he has no idea who he is either..

clydebank, Daley's winning dives were on the BBC, and their commentary was exceptional - real excitement and drama, which I presume will be replayed during the show.

George - why WILL Giggs win? Cos multi-voting Manc* fans will steam in while everyone else watches XF? If you want to back him on that basis, good luck to you! As has been said a hundred times on other threads, footballers do badly at this, the exceptions being people who have done well for England. Nice fella though, always has time for a chat.

I totally agree with this. My first look at the market and am shocked to see Daley 16/1 for top 3.

Cant have him winning, but could easily be a Beth Tweddle style podium finish

othh, do you know how many footballers have been up for this award in the televoting era?
Report onthehushhush December 12, 2009 1:50 PM GMT

Report bunnyman December 12, 2009 2:11 PM GMT
