If it was a bunch of gamblers, male sports watchers voting I'd say he should be about evens, but in reality with his likely tendancy to mope and generally look a bit saggy round the middle (and on top) I can't see he makes it in the eyes of this shows main viewers.

He's always been the housewives favourite as well. The only time my mum ever watched snooker was when Jimmy was playing.

Think that's a little bit of myth personally - ok some women will have watched him, and followed snooker, but not the majority.

Plus, theres also the 'disappointment factor' when your hero turns out to be so obviously middle-aged and fuddy etc. He can still win, but will have to show a bit more spirit and energy than looks like at present.

I agree Derek to a point. It's never good to have too high a profile early on but he is actually quite shy and without any alcohol he might just not be enough of a personality, on the other hand he might end up losing four stone and being the nicest bloke there. I just hope those bl00dy decorators get thrown out soon as if they are there for much longer I won't be watching it anyway. Anyway the focus tonight is firmly on that moose Jordan so nobody else will get a look in.

Every selection has a price, and although he was a lay at 4.6ish he is now in the 6.6 range which would make him closer to a back - I actually thought he looked happier yesterday too. If he keeps up the positive outlook he will get more attractive as a selection.

Stephen hendry said in an interview the other day that there is no way on earth jimmy whit will stick it out for 3 weeks, he said he has never seen anyone get bored so easily.

So what do we know so far? He's as fat as Ray Mears but not quite so happy in the jungle. More health complaints than George. He's quiet and boring expect when he's drunk when he's a total khunt. And he's a likely quitter.

Jimmy might be 147 hero to many in his sport, but unfortunately as far as charisma and personality are concerned outside snooker he'd struggle to make a break of 2 or 3. You frequent find trout on the slab at Morrisons with more go in them than Jimbo.

This is daft, I'll tell you now, Jimmy White is a bigger character than this Gino, plus the other 4 put together, and he has been stupidly edited out of it all so far. Now the field is just 6, and he already has enough supporters to keep him in for a couple more rounds, even with no exposure, he is the bet now. If he is there with just 4 left, he will get more TV time, and become a bigger and bigger hit. 12/1 with Betfred, fill your boots. Jimmy is a proper peoples hero.

most of the women ive talked too love gino and dont like jimmy they say hes really boring cant see that oppinion changing much in 4 days to be honest. Mens choice he probably is but housewives dont look past gino

Not in my house maiaze - she thinks Gino's a poser, and she's warming to Jimmy (slowly it must be said, but getting there).

He isn't doing as badly as he once was in terms of edit time, and the thinning field will only see his coverage increase. This could be a late stormer IMO.
