Qs start tomorrow, 1000. 4 waves of BO7s daily until Wednesday night. Not sure why the schedule couldn't have been jigged so that we got 4 tables for the final two sessions, instead of missing matches where more than 4 tables are in action, but evidently that isn't happening....

Bingham at it again. Just needs one frame out of three but loses all three to turn 3-1 into 3-4.
TBF, Lei should have been at least 3-1 up himself - frames 2 and 4 stolen by butch on the black.

Another good win for Lei. First time I've thought the market has priced him about right for ages. Must be finally waking up.
And yet here we are again with him as the rag v Tommy Ford.... It is definitely true that Tommy Ford played pretty well last night, but Long was awful - way below what he's shown this season to date. I still feel we're playing a bit of a guessing game about precisely what level Tommy Ford is at. There's no disputing that at his best, his best is better than Lei's best (he's still only a baby in snookering terms, though, TBF). Keeping it simple, the numbers say Lei is a play at odds-against.
Luca might have beaten Ding yesterday, but he still didn't score (and Ding failed to take a relatively simple chance to deliver a knockout blow), while Xiao continued to look rock solid in how he put Mags away. Not a huge amount of juice in it, and, like Tommy Ford, we are still guessing a little bit with Luca's level, but I think it's a fair price for Xiao.
Pricing for the other two matches looks bang on.

He's very hard to shake off. Completely different player now he's grown. Always looked like there was potential the first time he got a card, but he was tiny and couldn't reach half the shots.
why blast the reds all over with that safety, chances covering them all are nil
he actually had a decent chance at a long red peifan, the type of shot he usually goes far, ironically he plays the terrible safety
This will be an absolute shocker if he doesn't win this given the chances he's had.

Depending on how deep it goes, I might catch the back end of the first semi, but I'm definitely not around for the early part.
FWIW, very little between Xiao and Wu on the numbers. Xiao holds a very slight edge (no more than a gnat's tadger) on every metric barring recency scoring, where Wu has a slightly bigger than gnat's tadger edge. I'd be surprised if it doesn't go deep.
On the numbers, Tubbs is rightly fav against Lei, but Lei's numbers across almost the whole board are better than Noppy's going into last night's match. Lei is therefore bigger than I would make him, but it is obviously the biggest match of his life, he took a while to warm up against Tommy Ford, and he wobbled a bit in the W. Min stakes interest on value grounds.
Massive let off for Lei after he looked to have gifted Tubbs a three frame lead, 3-2 Tubbs.
That missed blue for Lei was a contender for widest miss of the tournament.

Well done, Lei! Didn't see much of today's play, and what I did wasn't great viewing, but he's earnt it this week! Won it the hard way.

Wu another Loswoszki,maybe a bit unfair as only 21 but that was woeful.
Did I hear them saying there had been concerns about the state of Wu's tip going into the final, which had meant he'd not practiced Saturday night? I didn't see his semi, so don't know if it was something that arose during that?
