Qs start tomorrow, 1000. 4 waves of BO7s daily until Wednesday night. Not sure why the schedule couldn't have been jigged so that we got 4 tables for the final two sessions, instead of missing matches where more than 4 tables are in action, but evidently that isn't happening....

I'll be surprised if Selby wins any more big titles. Game's moved on. You can't be so defensive anymore because all the top players can make a pot from almost anywhere
So far this season Selby has played some appalling matches and this is another. He starts off matches attacking and then retreats into defensive mode when he gets a lead and then gets reeled back in by attacking players willing to take a chance
That shot shows what I mean. Cue ball on cushion but that's not such a big deal anymore. Noppon missed this time but he won't miss everytime
Tactically he's better than Noppon but he's lost the two tight frames where safety was the clincher. If he's not winning those frames then he's in trouble against anyone

As I was saying...
Commentator's do my brain in talking about how you've got to play well to beat Selby. Noppon's pot success is nowhere near high enough to say he's 'winning' this. Selby is 'losing' it with poor safety.
Shame. Much more interesting day yesterday/today, anyway. Hopefully more of the same tomorrow.
Mildly surprising stat of the day©, Ding v Luca h2h (all formats) is 8:0 to Ding.
3 of the ones I count have gone to Ws, too.
Thought it was a potentially interesting match (he's not be as awful as usual the last few weeks), and if Page was a bit brighter I think he should have run Ding close yesterday. Not one I shall be involving myself pre-off, but interesting, for sure.
Xiao v Mags is similarly interesting for the same reasons. Mags played some good stuff at times yesterday, contrary to the $hite he's been serving up for the last few seasons, so maybe the new coach is starting to have an impact.
I have Noppy as a v slight fav over Ali (even before the 2-0 H2H), on the numbers, Jack's fav v Tubbs, but I'm put off by the mind hold he seemed to have over him at York. I know Tommy Ford won the $hit-out, but his numbers were still rubbish v Robbo, and as Tobias will tell you, that he progressed was possibly as much about Robbo as anything else. Long is well ahead on all of my metrics for the season. And I have Wu as a marginal fav over Baz.
Should be an interesting day.

Yes Lats - they've had a few very close ones. Agree the apprentice Iron-Man looks slightly more motivated and is playing better that he has for the past 12 months or so. Then again, he could hardly have got any worse imo. He certainly needs the ranking points.
Obviously it's a crap-shoot (like all BO7's) but based on the h2h and scoring, Ding is bigger than I'd have him at 1.55+, just can't bring myself to lump on in a BO7.

Yeah, probably would have hit the black on the full but might have crept behind it.

Bingham at it again. Just needs one frame out of three but loses all three to turn 3-1 into 3-4.
TBF, Lei should have been at least 3-1 up himself - frames 2 and 4 stolen by butch on the black.
You get that all the time don't you. Noppon stole a couple of frames last night against Selby
