Hi guys, just wanted to let you know I’m unfortunately withdrawing from the Champions of champions event tomorrow. Mentally I feel a bit drained and stressed and I want to look after my mental health and my body. I’m sorry to all the fans but I’ll be back stronger

Good old shon giving it large again and amusing to see Hendry getting stick for admitting he'd never seen Baipat play. I wonder if the others Shon doesn't name include the one and only John Parrott who cheerfully admitted a few years back that he'd never seen Sam Craigie play who'd only been a decade on tour at that point. I mean, Baipat to be fair has only been around a few months.

Have to wonder about Zhang at odds on today. This time yesterday he was on a plane from china so you'd have to think all last week's exertions will have some effect. Not necessarily of course and i don't know when Ding got back, maybe he stayed on and is now rushing back too. Don't like punting ding either so not sure it appeals all that much. Think higgins is the likely winner today and tonight.

Shon is bang on, IMHO. There REALLY is no excuse nowadays with YouTube and probably 97% of matches across a season "televised" to not know the players you are there to talk about. It's shocking, IMHO.
All other things being equal, I have Zhang as a play, but there are certainly lots of imponderables, not least how he celebrated post-maiden win and how he's handling it since. He looks incredibly measured on the table, but he could be a right party animal away from it (I can't see it somehow)
JB rightfully the jolly against Wakelin, but their last two meetings have gone 5-4 (both to JB), and Wakelin is scoring better than ever this season. I don't think there's any value in JB's price, personally, and he was shocking last week against Jordan Brown.

100% mate, no excuse. Hendry didn't have to admit it though which is really an admission that he doesn't give all that much a sh!t about it, it's just a job to him, a wage cheque. But Parrott imo is the laziest, most entitled of them all, a guy for whom snooker only exists 5 weeks a year, and i have to wonder whether shon would call him out for it. Maybe he would but interesting he had no issue whatsoever taking hendry on.
Saw Vic of the academy posting a few pics of Zhangs celebrations and he still had his shirt and keks on anyway Just think he's entitled to be a little under par this week and if he comes through today I'll think about taking him on tonight. No more than hunch really.

Just recalled Parrott was getting ripped for his Craigie bombshell during the world qualifiers, good old Dennis popped up on twitter a day or two later and started offering comments on matches, the techniques of lesser known players etc, as if to say, "hey look everybody, I'm watching the snooker!!!" No flies on Dennis eh

Yeah, Parrott is bad. Shon does love to court controversy, but he'd dearly love to be on the BBC gravy train later in life, I'm sure. Probably best to keep schtum on that one while JP's still about!
LOL about Zhang! I don't have any stats to back it up, but I seem to remember noting last season that the A/E for players playing in the first match of the afternoon session was significantly great than 1, which could be another reason for taking on the winner of the second match, especially given the travel aspect.

Exactly mate! And when he says "others" who else could he mean? Say what you like about yates, hendon et al but those boys watch snooker, they're anoraks. And Jimmy, Angles etc live the game. Just leaves the bbc boys basically.
Won't see any of this so happy to hold fire till the evening and see how it looks at that stage.
