This first match today is intriguing. Bar pulling off a surprise win last night against Zhang - and scoring well in the process - Butch has done absolutely nothing of note all season.
If you strip out all of their tin-pot meetings, Butch leads the H2H 4-1, but most of them are from a time where Butch was playing much better than he generally is now.
On the season-long numbers, Zhou should be a strong fav.
I'm taken back to the match where Butch pummeled Shon at last season's Masters (6-0) from absolutely nowhere, before going on to get humped himself the next day by Judd, 6-1.
Butch needs to back up last night's win for me, before I start to consider that he might be on the way back.
The value lies with Zhou.

I feel like I've really benefited from cutting out most of weekends (in general) this season, for sure (this one will be a bit different - out later today, will do tomorrow and then miss the first session on Sunday). The balance is much better.

Yeah - that's not a bad idea. I miss a lot of Saturdays anyway as I am a season ticket holder at Bath Rugby. I find Saturday evenings to be generally poor liquidity wise anyway. The flip-side is that I prefer matches with Frame Odds betting which in some tournaments is only QF's onwards (so Friday-Sunday).

I remember you saying before about the rugby. I just struggle with single table setups in general. I don't like being sat here wasting my time if matches end up being trains (same reason I struggle to get into cricket, even though it seems more often than not there *are* great trading opportunities - sitting there all day for what was ultimately a train would kill me). I just feel multiple matches = multiple chances of at least one match having a nice shape to it.

Cricket and snooker are probably the worse two sports to trade from that point of view (ie long matches that can be trains)! By the same token though it probably leads to more opportunities as it's too long for most people -I can get into a position that can take hours to get out of!
I guess we all have our own way of doing things which is a good thing as we are not all chasing the same opportunities.

Watched a bit of Higgins this week. Bit bemused by the commentary. It's as if they are willing him over the line as they know he could fall apart at any moment. Now a short priced favourite you wouldn't be at all surprised if he finds a way to throw this chance away.
Hadn't seen Jimmy White for a while. Looked terrible last night.

At the start of the week, Cabby would have been a much bigger price against Zhou than he is now, though there is a bit of a drift in progress as I type. Nothing significant in the H2H.
I have JB as fav for the second match, but at a bigger price than he currently is. Noppy a bit of value, but not an actual fancy.

After last nights match in the Eurosports studio Ronnie said something like - when JB plays well he wins but when he dosen't play his best he loses. JB replied that Ronnie still winning/world number one skews everyones thinking and if Ron wasn't doing that everyone would be saying how great JB is still playing at 48. JB didn't smile for the rest of the interview. JB going to show everyone how good he still is!

Unless Higgins sorts out the mental side seems unlikely he will win again. The other players must see how fragile he is now. Plays every shot as if his life depends on it.

Out for the first session today, but I think it's a sit on yer hands job anyway.
Purely on the numbers, Noppy should just be edging favouritism, like he is, but there was so much emotion coursing through him at the end yesterday, there has to be a chance he'll be suffering some kind of comedown today, now the adrenaline has drained. Chances are, he won't have slept very well either.
Remarkably, they've not played one another for a decade! Both times they have met, Cabby has emerged victorious, but there's been a lot of water under the bridge since then, and Noppy has better than halved the rate at which he makes 50s, so it's completely irrelevant to today's contest.
Hopefully it's still tight going into tonight.

Noppy strikes back after Cabby was super unlucky to plant a red in when potting a blue and splitting up the reds ! Noppy likely to regroup and feel less shackled now he is behind ! Hope so as taken Cabby on at 1.4x

4-1 Cabby ---Pretty much one way traffic so far - that Noppy miss to middle frame 4 thought had done him. Not much changed so far after MSI. Some of Noppy shots mile away.

Surely to goodness Noppy wasn't 1.63 SP?!? He was mid-high 1.7s when I went out, and that was short enough, even if he came out and replicated his form of last night!
1537 is quite an early finish for the afternoon sesh, so hopefully he's well rested to give it a go tonight. Make it competitive at least! (please)

It looks like I missed a couple of interesting matches (Sat night/ Sunday)!
As gutless says, it's good to see somebody different winning - I could never have foreseen Cabby retaining the title.
Anyway , that's it now for Christmas (I don't get involved in Qualifiers), so I hope you all have a great Christmas and will see you all the other side.
