i can understand players having a bad night, missing loads of balls, but gould tonight is either drunk, ill or at it. Missing pots by a foot and knocking safeties over the corner, something not right at all.

not sure what was said at the end there, but white was giving him an odd look, perhaps he could see it stank as well
Didn't see this one so can't comment - but do wonder how often players tank because they are due to play or already there, but don't want the tourny on offer in the calender...?

Not sure how these things work (John probably has a better handle on it), but not every player enters every tournament (and similarly not every player who enters for a tournament goes ahead and plays - the Shoot-Out, for instance, usually sees a huge number of withdrawals). Logically, therefore, you would think any need for such "tanking" would be stubbed out at source? ie don't want to play, don't enter (or withdraw, if you thought you did and then change your mind)!
Croup does have a well-documented history of having a tough time mentally at times (like you, I didn't see the match in question, so can't comment on the specifics).

I agree with Pandora.
I backed White in the match in question but couldn’t believe how awful Gould played.
He barely played a single shot which went well including his break off shot which went in off twice from 2.
Also he missed anything from distance by a street.
Looked like he hadn’t hit a ball since the world champs qualifiers.

Dont think i can offer too much further insight tbh. I think this is mostly spot on. Didnt see match in question either so can only comment in a general sense, but there doesnt seem anything new to me in a player seemingly tanking a match like this and while suspicions of dodgy activity will inevitably be raised, i think in the majority of instances there will be other factors, including personal, at play. Just my 2c but i think in a technical sport like snooker, if you're anyway off your game for whatever reason, the result can be very ugly indeed. Gould definitely has his demons, but i never believed lack of integrity to ne among them.
