I think that brown for 8:5 might have been the turning point for him. Win, lose or draw - it's the best I have ever seen him play and it has made for an interesting market.

Totally! Tbh i wasn't surprised at all he missed the first and a part of me was almost certain  he'd nail the second! Just the way he is. Both really struggled under the pressure that match. Didn't see what happened earlier when white potted pink with the rest and next i look, he's sitting in his seat looking glum. Must've fouled a red with his sleeve or something but didn't notice it.

Was inevitable, mate.  I'd laid a chunk at sub 1.1    Just the way the qualies have gone for me this year....  You've had a great day, haven't you?  Very well done!

Ah, was ok mate, thanks. Did take the chance on white and got lucky enough with it, though I'd played safe and cashed in before that last frame - learned from my expensive lesson on Sunday! You were one ball away from that sub 1.1 lay going odds against and i couldn't have fancied white in a winona. That s another crossbar strike mate, very frustrating and fck knows, Brown had his chances.

Looking at a few interesting contests today.

Sheriff i will take with a 3 frame start v Dave and probably a nibble on outright too. Always a chance Dave will go "missing" for sustained periods and Sheriff gives his true running more often than not.

Wakey could push Jimmy R all the way there, not sure about that one. Dottie solid enough at this level, but could be a day for Jamie to excel himself again, seems to like this stage so a little nibble in order there too around 3.6-3.7

Hoss should get through for his crucible debut, if he's serious pretensions about being a top player anyway! Ali's recent form is good, including a couple of tight matches with Mugthew, will let the old dogs at it today.

Dunno about Page today. Beat Grace earlier on, but this stage is bigger and Grace has been to crucible once before, he's a slight favourite in the books which seems fair enough to me.

Highfield v Yuan, maybe Yuan wins this like a good player but I'm just not ready to erase my doubts about him. Close call i think, watching brief here.

Noppon v milkman is the match that really excites me today, though not really for betting purposes. Noppon brings solid credentials and seems a bad match up for rob, though they are 2-2 on hth, and looks a worthy, albeit narrow, favourite to me. If the real rob turns up, i think he's good enough but, as with Yuan, I'm not yet willing to pay for the privilege of finding out!

Not much grabbing me today, and thoughts are very similar to yours.

I give the Sheriff more than a squeak, too.  Clear daylight on the numbers, unsurprisingly, but the Sheriff has won their two recent match-ups (both 4-3).  Dave's only success came way back in 2009.

Noppy's best numbers are better than Milkman's, as they are for the season as a whole, but Rob's only really been playing for the last month!  H2H is 2-2.  No bet.

Ali's got a slight scoring edge over Mugthew, and, as you say, two recent victories.  Their only other meaningful meeting since 2016 was also a tight one, which also went Ali's way.  Wouldn't be a shock if Mugthew traded shorter at some point.

Highfield's actually outscoring Yuan this season (and his best is very slightly better than Yuan's, too).  They're very evenly matched, though.  Not a televised table anyway, but could be a good one.

Question about the snooker.org provisional rankings, mate, why are there no #2 and #4 showing on the 1 year list in yellow?  ie only Hugill #1 and Taylor #3 are....?

                                                                                 think we all know its down to their incompetence,remember a good few years ago they showed the matches on live video in the morning and didnt show them when they played to a finish in the evening.
