By the way, did you see that changes are afoot for Eurosport  after being bought out? I fear that it will lead to their channels becoming subscription but I really hope not.

BT Sport will be renamed as TNT Sports later this year, with their Premier League games and other live action to be shown on a new channel next season.

The new brand will be launched in the summer and follows the merger of BT Sport with Warner Bros Discovery, which also owns Eurosport, in a deal last year.

As part of the joint venture, BT Sport and Eurosport’s live sport offerings will ultimately be brought together as part of the TNT Sports brand.

Together, BT Sport and Eurosport currently have the rights for events including Premier League and Champions League football, Premiership Rugby, Grand Slam tennis and the Olympic Games.

While BT Sport will be folded into the new TNT Sports brand ahead of the start of next season, Eurosport will not be renamed until some time after the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

TNT Sports will be an unfamiliar name to many British viewers but is a recognised brand in the United States and Latin America, where live sport is often shown on TNT channels.

What does this mean for BT Sport subscribers?
There are no immediate plans for any changes in pricing but executives are offering no guarantees that the price of a subscription will not rise in the future, depending on how their live sport offering changes.

Those executives are hoping that, by unifying the BT Sport and Eurosport offerings under one brand, they will make it simpler for viewers by bringing all of their sporting action under one umbrella.

Following the rebrand in the summer, viewers who watch BT Sport through its streaming app will have to do so via the Discovery+ app. The plan is for the most popular features of the BT Sport app to be transferred to the Discovery+ app.

TV viewers will not have to do anything, it is understood, as the name of the channel will simply switch from BT Sport to TNT Sports.

What does it mean for BT Sport employees?
When the joint venture between BT Sport and Warner Bros Discovery was formed in September last year, the production and operational assets of BT Sport were transferred to Warner Bros Discovery.

More than 200 BT Sport staff that transferred to Warner Bros Discovery are now at risk of redundancy, and will have to apply for roles at the joint venture if they are to stay.

BT Sport staff have been told that they have “absolute priority” on any available jobs but there will be redundancies as part of the transfer, which has seen BT Sport relocate from Stratford to the Warner Bros studios in Chiswick and Stockley Park.

Why has the name TNT Sports been chosen?
Executives at the joint venture see TNT Sports as being both a fresh name for British and Irish viewers, but also a brand that resonates in American markets. They are hoping for “global consistency” with the brand.

“The TNT Sports name is already synonymous with premium live sport in a number of countries around the world and a further sign of the global scale and expertise that Warner Bros Discovery brings to its partnership with BT,” said Andrew Georgiou, board member of the joint venture and President and Managing Director, Warner Bros Discovery Sports Europe.

Spot on. I think I bigged him up too much. I just mean with the likes of Neil etc spluttering, Shaun is nearly back to his best, and has to be a good contender for the big one, and a very nice price still imho.

The best performance i've ever seen,everything was perfect no rushing,decent safety no dodgy misses and cue ball control,hopefully that isn't the end of it just so good to watch..

usually agree with you giggilo.but come on, that was not even in top 20 . Trump when he won world final was leagues apart from that. Not knocing it, murphy played really well, but not the best ever. He missed balls. Seen some performances over the years when nothing is missed. Ronnie Neal, Selby all have played to a much higher level.

It's easy to get carried away but for me he has the best cue action in the game,he's never played like that since he won the world title there's no one that has ever played better than that,i haven't been a fan of his fir years but it wasn't just the potting the positional play and thought in the shots was like a combintion of all the best players rolled into one.The amount of practise and time he mustv'e put in to get his game like that is incredible,if he played like that all the time he'd be unplayable..no doubt he will resume to his old ways but i can't think of any performances that were better ever..

Presumably Lumpy was backing Shon? I haven't been involved much this week but when I did get involved liquidity has been poor.

There was just shy of £60k at 1.01 at 8-2 (much of it in one hit), which was probably about fair enough at the time, but at 8-4 and with Ali looking well set for 8-5, the to lay price here was well under what the bookies were going on Shon.
