Hendry with a years solid work behind him has to have a good chance, but he'll play Igor in qf and that's a tough one to call. Kendo has best draw and will want to make up for blowing it last year against jimmy. Ken just about the shout for me.

gj - you're a snooker junkie, desperate for your snooker fix. Then again, this probably has more prestige than half of the ranking events these days, with a place in the Champion of Champions event for the winner - as long as it's White or Hendo Mischief

I'm actually looking forward to this gobe. Patsy back at the crucible after 35 years and with a cue in his hand, not a mere  prop for Dennis in commentary. What's not to like about that? I just hope if the final goes to a decider, the bbc doesn't switch it off to show highlights of womens golf like it did last year!

More to the point, have you backed the 2022 world champion yet?

Not yet! But, I'll be having a dabble by the time the month is out. I'm still trying to work out where I stand with Kyren, before I take the plunge. I genuinely didn't fancy his chances this year, but despite his collapse against Murphy, and his level dipping in and out, there were still positives for him to take out of the championship. He was clearly rattled by Murphy whipping the crowd up, but he's likely to improve still further by next year's championship. Selby is on the shortlist, although his price is a little shorter than I was expecting - although I can already think of a few possible negatives against backing him at this stage, not least his price being unlikely to be a lot shorter by post time. Any early thoughts, very early thoughts, yet yourself?

Cant say much gobe other than i agree with selby assessment, dont think he's going anywhere and every chance of adding a couple more to his haul. I think anyway.

One thing i will say for kyren, i liked his post qf interview. There was real hurt there, no sugar coating it, unlike with both robbo and judd who were putting positive spins on it. Robbo going on about his 70 centuries, like you lost man, who the f... cares about your big breaks? Definitely liked that about kyren anyway.

World Seniors Snooker (WSS) was established by the WPBSA in June 2018 to provide opportunities for players over 40 to be able to extend their snooker careers beyond the professional World Snooker Tour.

From the former greats of the professional sport including world champions who have still got the desire to play competitively, to talented amateurs who still crave the opportunity to live their snooker dreams, the WSS Tour provides opportunities for senior players around the world.

Since 2020, tournaments have for the first time also been open to current professional players ranked outside of the world’s top 64, providing a direct link to the World Snooker Tour.

Wallace v Judge was a decent quality match. Wanted Judge to win but Wallace a definite contender on that display, mid match wobble notwithstanding.
