No rest for the wicked - just 23 hours after the International Open ends in China, off we go again - the Champion of Champions tournament in Coventry starts.
Group 1 (Monday)
22/1 S.Murphy v J.Robertson 80/1
8/1 Ding v M.Georgiou 300/1
Group 4 (Tuesday)
11/4 R.O'Sullivan V S.Bingham 33/1
8/1 J.Higgins v R.Day 33/1
Group 3 (Wednesday)
12/1 M.Williams v K.Wilson 22/1

SFs are winner of Group 1 v winner of Group 4 (Friday), and winner of Group 3 v winner of Group 2 (Saturday).
R.O'Sullivan looks by far the most likely winner given his love of tournaments like this and a format that appears tailor made for him. He's had a good rest since 'the incident' and he looks like the one to beat if he's put that to the back of his mind. At a bigger price - I think it's possible that S.Murphy will show some improvement in the form he's shown this season. He's recently relocated his family to Ireland, and become a father again, so his mind has clearly been elsewhere. His win here last season was a significant one for him as he beat R.O'Sullivan in the final after a series of weak efforts against him. The bottom half looks like a minefield, and at least M.Allen and N.Robertson don't have to play until Thursday. My preference is for M.Williams who, will hopefully be fully motivated for this after 1 or 2 lacklustre efforts in China.

Murphy a fair call, easiest group and break has to do him good. Couldn’t fancy allen or robertson to be in the flow this week. From the other half I’d go for trump, a few encouraging signs of late

I think J.Trump is probably a touch overpriced, given his draw, but it's possible he may suffer a bit of a hangover following his defeat to J.Lisowski. That could be a real hammer blow to his confidence. And, I just don't fancy him at all, at the moment, if he's put under pressure early on.

Yeah I’d definitely never put trump up with any great confidence. He really has to start winning again before you’d regard him as a front rank player again. Still I don’t find that half of draw all that inspiring so I’d give him a reasonable shout. Williams, Wilson neither knocking me out the past few weeks. Brecel as 100/1rag kind of sums up how lowly he’s rated I think. Hawkins is a possible, never know with him.

K.Wilson looks out-of-sorts at the moment, and he withdrew from The China Open recently - so maybe there's something not quite right with him. I'd have no great confidence in anyone from that section, at the moment, but you'd hope the current World Champion would be motivated in this. Even if he is - there's no guarantee he'll come through it! I agree regarding M.Allen and N.Robertson, and maybe a M.Selby/B.Hawkins double at around 11/4 is the way to go - although best of 7s mean stakes should be on the lower side.
