can't see how mental midget wins, fell over the line against second rate wenbo and again against a pathetic ronnie who didn't fancy putting in another 50+ frame shift.

agree with Grant, have a feeling that Ding will win, although Selby is making his best impression of an unbeatable robot at the moment, so not entirely sure how he does it.

is this ding infatuation because he just beat the worse ronnie in history or you actually think he's showed any improvement  since last yearConfused.
ding looks the same to me,liable to totally collapse at any time. while selby looks twice the player from last year and i would make hawkins favourite also

Din never gave him a sniff in the first three frames should've been 4-0 played superb so he was up against it from the stsrt there were 21 breaqks over 50 in the match including the 146 from o'sullivan and the 2nd to last frame o'sullivan cleared up with a 70+ from 65-0 down.He played quite well,he even admitted so ding must've won 8-9 frames from one visit you can't play much better than that..
By:

osullivans safety was abysmal and his long potting terrible his attitude even worse. as for the first 3 frames my memory **** but i backed ronnie from start and lumped on ding after about a frame as ronnie was playing like a club player
By:

he certainly had a few chances first few frames and looked like he was still fast on and was the reason i got out

I had 2k on o'sullivan and got a nice free bet out of it,anyone would've struggled to beat ding in that match unless playing at their absolute best, ding hasn't played like that in the last 10 years..

look no prob giggilo i just can't agree i layed off in first few frames because ronnie had chances and couldn't capatalize, that's how i saw it.
i hope ding beats selby in a 33 frame thriller as i only got hawkins left so shows how much i no

Selbys won more ranking events than he's ever done this season, but he hasn't even been playing that well ding was playing to a different level when he was 20,he looked totally different player today and o'sullivan said the exact same thing...

Spot on Grant. Ding was playing some pretty smart stuff a few seasons back. The last No.1 before Selby if i'm not mistaken.

Ding did play well against Ronnie alright, but let's be honest, Ronnie went AWOL for large parts of that second session, had enough chances but wasnt on his game for whatever reason, not playing on for the 2 snookers told an old familiar story. Had he not blown that reespotted black frame when it was 3-3 in the first session, it's whole different match, ding was visibly wilting at the time. Ancient history now but think Ronnie wins if he goes 4-3 at that point.

R.O'Sullivan looked tired in the 2nd session and was so flat. His touch totally deserted him mid-session, and when he conceded that frame with just 2 snookers needed the distress signals went out. It's a shame we didn't get the big showdown, but given how well M.Selby is playing maybe it wouldn't have been the classic we'd have hoped for. It's the wrong thread but how is B.Hawkins over 6/4 to beat J.Higgins? Higgins is producing some fabulous snooker, and the schedule has been very kind to him, but he's too short against someone of Hawkins' class.
By:

That 6/4 Hawkins looks appealing enough, but you said it yourself gobe, higgins has been playing some decent snooker while what i've seen of the Hawk has been pretty nondescript. I saw the last 7 or 8 frames of the Maguire match and I thought one of them was as bad as the other. He'll probably play better than that but he'll need to be much better imo.

osullivans safety was abysmal and his long potting terrible his attitude even worse.

This is it ^.

All this going overboard on Ding is nonsense, as you have said gig anybody can pot on these tables. Ronnie's shyte attitude and zero patience handed him the match.

Ding will get smashed by Selby.

I would have expected Selby to be 1.3's instead of 1.5's tbh

Fu was even worse than Ronnie , lets be honest as good as Selby he, he has had to do nothing to get here , Fu could barely get a 20 break and Fergal O'brien was even worse

Heart says Mark, pocket says Ding over 7/1...

Barry has not played that well, missing and breaking down often against Dott and Maguire.
Would have been out with a tougher draw...

He will battle on mind but I see Higgins getting through and perhaps having some bad sessions there after as he has done little wrong so far and must drop off at some point i guess with age etc..

Mark has had less examination so far and one would hope Ding serves it up this time..

I have not been a Ding supporter over the years but i do believe he is more focused this time.

He will need to be on it at all times as Mark is an animal around the table.

last year i was on the jester and fretting continuously watching him play.. so poorly was he playing
yet he still found a way to win
this time round he's playing with a lot less constraint, much more fluently and confidently and been so assured
unfortunately i'm not on him..on the other 3 but not very confident at all of anyone stopping him
i know every session and day is different but what he has massively in his favour is he can dig so deep and stay with smn basically with his Z game
think, tho' it goes against the grain will have to cash out and take a small profit
tho' it's not quite the same when you're watching smth you haven't got your cojones on

Be interesting to see what shape selbys game is really in once some pressure is applied, just need ding not let Selby get off to a 6 frame start like last year  then we shall see as lets be honest who has Selby beat to reach the semis, on the other hand ding has defo had the harder route here and been under a lot of pressure and came through it really well.

Think this could be dings year, and its not before time.

Big question: can Ding cut out the careless shots, the easy casual misses that are a feature of his game? Selby will miss his share too, simply the nature of the game, but he wont miss half as many as Ding. At this level he never does.

Other side is Selby is due a dodgy session. Rare any player can go through the entire 2 weeks without having at least one poor session. Think Ding will have to murder him one session, like a 6-2, to gain a foothold on the match. DOnt fancy it much, but not beyond the realm of impossibility either.

Yup, all about cutting out those lapses and loose shots. I worry that Ding may not get a sight of as many long reds off his opponents break off as he has been doing up to now. Selby's break-offs are pretty mean and he doesn't leave much to go at... Would love Ding to do it.

Lest we forget he scraped past Liang.

Selby 1/4 poke.

Mark's going to have to play a lot worse and Ding's going to need to improve to win this. Don't see it happening thankfully.

That's a superb safety. Covered all 3 reds in the top side of the table with the other 3 baulk colours.

Mark makes a mistake off the said safety and Ding makes a superb clearance. I'm baw deep on Mark outright so this frame should be annoying me but can't help but want Ding to win. Love him.

I remember lumping on Federer a few years ago at the start of Wimbledon.

When he played Roddick in the final it was torture as I wanted him to win.

I want Ding to win as well, but because I don't think Selby deserves 3 titles already in this weakest of eras.
