Not worth to lose your account with them over such a bet. They would limit you if you bet that and they had to pay out.

Ronnie's saving himself for the World Seniors. Williams wont have it all his own way this season.

Someone was matched @1.04 for nearly 5 k on Ronnie winning the uk?
Report bobweenit October 29, 2015 3:02 PM GMT
must have put it on by accident thinking it was a another tourny? Some layer hit the jackpot there
Report Wicklow October 29, 2015 3:32 PM GMT
Yes that 1.04 was matched by someone thinking it was the 2014 event, which he won. But looks like they will get their money back now - as non runner - what a lucky chap Shocked

It says on the rules - All bets stand run or not. Looks like he's been done.

So I presume the 2015 market was up and running either before the 2014 tournament was over or by the following morning? It's so easy to make mistakes on these exchanges, got caught out myself on the rotten sportsbook recently, but that's an absolute howler that's going to cost the guy the guts of 3 grand. Kinda feel for the poor sod.
Report Wicklow October 30, 2015 1:21 PM GMT
Yes that 2015 maarket appeared during the 2014 final or just after it (ie. that night)

I have sympathy for the lad aswell - but on the other hand id feel aggrieved if I layed the 1.04 and he was declared a non runner. Id be amazed if the bets stand if he has not entered - its not an ante post market, so surely it has to be a n/r.
Report gentlemanjohn October 30, 2015 4:01 PM GMT
The rules as previous poster stated seem fairly clear on it. So can't see any way out for the backer here. Sympathy is limited, though, because as thousands of people have probably discovered on the exchanges at one time or another, if something looks like free money then check again, and if it still seems like free money, then check again. 99 times out of 100 there'll be something in the small print that you've missed.

we may not ever see him in a tournament again

Surely if not turning up for uk will be missing the whole sesson and just playing the worlds..
Report BornToWin November 1, 2015 11:43 PM GMT
He will need (or want) money soon enough. I think.
Report appformat November 2, 2015 1:21 AM GMT
Think Ronnie only cares about the Masters & Worlds.
Report gentlemanjohn November 2, 2015 9:46 AM GMT
Do you think he might have considered the UK if they hadn't gone and made a dogs dinner of the tournament?
Report cooperman12 November 2, 2015 5:17 PM GMT
Wonderful player, but can't tolerate his lack of manners. Walking out of the arena before Selby received his masters trophy was very poor. I've seen him totally ignore groups of fans at a few tournaments, talks utter nonsense also.
Report BornToWin November 4, 2015 10:38 PM GMT
Not very self aware is our Ronnie. A prodigy from a young age with who knows what kind of upbringing.

Still, he does talk a lot of absolute b0llocks.
