To be fair he was amazing when he was 16. His long game was better than it is now.

Im just reminding pandora of the incorrectness of his viewing figure claim.

In all fairness Five By Five, the BDO Final over the recent years has been better to watch and far closer than the Taylor walkovers in the PDC.

I'm not saying for one minute the BDO is anywhere near the PDC in terms of quality though.

I enjoyed the BDO world champs far more than PDC

Closer games at the business end of tournie, doesnt take itself too seriously and one game after another rather than a 30 minute build up between games like on sky

Agreed but surely stick Wolfie v chisnall (which was a good final) against Barney v Taylor think barney;taylor would get more viewers... same in tennis at slams tv will show uncompetitve matches with the top stars rather than a good close match.

Fair enough.My thoughts are with his connection to Sky through the darts is he will be pushing the BBC to see how much they are prepared to stump up for the big 3 tournaments they have now ( anyone know how long the current deals are for ? ) knowing Sky will pay plenty.

Not sure about the deal lengths, personally I think it would be a shame if they lost the four they have, possibly with the exception of the Grand Prix. The BBC Grand Slam might be an idea - a big cash bonus for winning UK, Masters and World. From memory I think the World is still lurking somewhere on the 'public interest' list of events to keep free to view. The red button coverage is fine, if you ignore 80% of the commentary. But I agree he may ask them to match or better the Sky offer.
